What value for HK USP .45?

A friend has a chance to buy some used, police, full-sized HK .45 USPs at trade in value. His thought is to resell them at a gun show.

I know there are a lot of variables that can affect retail values, but give it your best shot. What might you expect to pay (or get) for such a firearm at a gun show? Assume good working order, showing moderate to little use.

Also, what are the legalities of buying and selling a few guns in a relatively short time frame without a FFL license?

Your friend is planning to buy used guns with the purpose of resale for a profit at gunshows.

Sounds to me like the ATF definition of a dealer. Dealers are required to possess an FFL. The ATF regularly arrests people acting as dealers at gunshows and the U.S. Attorney regularly prosecutes them.

Your friend may want to rethink this plan.

I agree. Sounds like more trouble than I would put in. But, he asked me to research the value. So, I'm just asking the fine folks on this fourm.
