What was/is your first carry gun

A S&W 469. Loved it for what it was, but the grips just don't fit me and had me shooting permanently low, usually right.
Sold it to fund my CZ PCR, whose slight inaccuracies are entirely my fault.

Took the CCW course in 2007 with a Firestar M43 and a S&W Mod 19 2 1/2". I have graduated to a Kimber UCC II in .45 ACP. Still carry the other two on ocasion.

First carry (other than on-duty employment-related) was a Charter Arms Undercover .38, carried off-duty back in the eighties.

First since acquiring a "civilian" license-to-carry in 2008 was that same gun. Others that followed were a Bersa Thunder 380 and a Kel-Tec PF9. The latter dominates carry now, but several others take turns now and then.

My first was the Ruger SR9c, since it was concealable, yet would hold larger spare mags.

I switched to the Walther P99 AS in 9 mm, because I like the controls better and prefer DA/SA and not a safety.

Started out carrying a Beretta 92FS and quickly moved to a S&W 1006 (for many years). I'm changing over to a Glock 30S now though. It's a smaller gun than the 1006 (what isn't?) and I get a +1 round count increase.

My first carry gun was a Charter Arms Undercover and I carried it a Bianchi Model 9R holster. Nowadays I have a CCW rotation that consists of a Kahr PM9, a S&W Model 638, and a SIG P238.

I carried it at times despite the (unconstitutional) Illinois law banning the carrying of firearms outside of one's home.

I have carried the P7M8 at times IWB since 1987. The law was only ruled unconstitutional last year.

The first gun that I will carry with an Illinois CCL will be the Rohrbaugh R9.

The first gun I "carried" was a Smith & Wesson Model 39-2, 9mm, but I didn't have a CHP back then so I didn't carry it often, but I suppose it was my "first."

My first "legal" carry gun was a Taurus 85, 38 Special that I had when I got my CHP. The first one I went out and bought specifically to be a "carry gun" was a Kel-Tec P-11, 9mm.

I've tried a number of others since then, but have pretty much settled on a Smith & Wesson Model 12-2, 38 Special.

What was/is your first carry gun

I was issued my first VA CHP in Spring'75 so my first carry gun was a 4" Ruger Security Six. I replaced that shortly thereafter with a Walther PPK/s that I carried in a black Roy's Leather Goods pancake holster.

Still have the holster (that I use with the 3rd Walther PP series pistol that I have owned) but that original PPK/s is long gone.

Many years ago, our oldest daughter attended a school some distance from our home where she stayed during the week and came home on Fridays. After making the 300 mile round trip every Friday and Sunday night, I decided those stops at rest areas and gas stations would be less worrisome if I could carry my gun rather than having to leave it in the car. Add to that we had just elected a new Sheriff that offered CCW permits in what was still a "may issue" rather than "shall issue" state. I bought a new Bersa 380 for about $250 and carried it for a long time. I eventually replaced it with a Police trade in G23 and have been a Glock fan since. But I still have and love that Bersa and believe it was, and still is one of the best values in the CCW world for someone on a tight budget.

The first gun I carried was a 6" Model 28 S&W .357, N-frame, in a shoulder holster. First dedicated carry gun (bought expressly to carry) was a 2.5" Model 66 .357, carried in an upside-down shoulder rig, followed by several 1911s. Current on my CCW are Glock models 26, 30 and 36. I suspect next renewal will be G26, G23, and Shield9.
