What is the most recent knife you bought?

Rotten Design EVO 3.0
Designed by Jon Sorenson
Produced by CKF
4” hand rubbed Satin M390

These are numbered knives. Lovely ergos. Beautiful grind. Carries great.

That light spot on the titanium in the first pic is a smudge on my phone's camera lense, not an imperfection in the finish.

Funny, I was just looking at these a few weeks ago.

I’d really want that same model. But I really went ape on Black Friday and drained my future bank account.

Oh the EVO is in my hands. I mean I put another knife on layaway. And still have others on preorder.
Something specific you want to know about this one?

What are your thoughts and impressions:

Balance, feel
Beefy? Overbuilt?
Handle ergos ? Hot spots?
Can the quality be compared to… ?

Considering the superb quality of the EDC folders in my pocket, around my neck, and/or in my backpack, it is utterly absurd what cutlery resides in my kitchen! Benchmade has a 3-piece (chef / utility / paring) arrangement plus a cool all-rounder they call a Station Knife which might be a cool addition plus their nice table knife 4-pack.

I am somewhat on-the-fence about a DLC coating (or any coating for that matter) around food. The black looks really slick and all…yet I somewhat wonder about so much as even a fleck of DLC finding its way into prepared dishes. Am I totally overreacting because of how we are supposed to discard worn teflon pots and pans?

Anyway, this is my longwinded post about what new knives might be under the Christmas tree for me…

Three new knives came in today. All from Knifecenter. Took advantage of free two day shipping.

On the left Steel Will Plague Doctor, middle MKM Bob Terzuola Clap Flipper and right is CRKT Trask Deadbolt.

The Deadbolt locking works well. You push the pivot point inward to unlock. I like it. The MKM has a single attachment for the clip. The clip moves a bit already. It isn’t smooth on opening. Gritty. I will oil it or take it apart. The Steel Will is bigger than I thought it would be. All are shaving sharp.

Found the source of the grittiness. It’s a little nub on the liner lock the rubs when opening and closing. Not sure it’s purpose.

That little bump is a detent ball. There is a corresponding divot in the blade that it pops into when the knife is closed ,and that provides just enough resistance to keep it from opening in your pocket. They usually just make a bit of a "speed bump" in the rotation of the blade, maybe yours will smooth up with a little use.

Vehement Knives OSS Fighting Knife #2 of 6 (Second-pattern Fairbairn-Sykes commando dagger). CPM154 and brass. This was a surprise win, there were four of these in slightly different configurations at DLT Trading along with four OSS sleeve daggers and five lapel daggers with OSS catalog-correct sheaths. I was very surprised that I came out on top for my first choice, the entire OSS special drop sold out in I believe eight seconds. This was a bit of a budget-buster, and I'm tapped out on knife funds until well into next year...

Sounds perfect for practicing batoning, splitting kindling and scraping ferro rods. Maybe use as spoke shave for walking stick production. Maybe even prying and other stuff you know better than to do with good knives.
