Just wondering what Uzi prices were like before the AWB came in to make it thumbhole or fixed stock. As far as the Uzi carbine's are concerned (not SBR or SMG), were they as expensive then as they're expensive now? I hope to get an Uzi one day but maybe once AWB go away the price will lower.

Good lord they are 1300$ in my area, and that's a GOOD price! The damn things are overpriced. I would love one but for that money I can get some nice rifles instead. What a load of crap. All because they look scary. Sheesh. Now I'm mad.

Buying an uzi is one of the things that I wanted to do before I'm 25 (hey, it could still happen - but at these prices... )

And for those of you who "have to know", other things on that list include...
-Learn to drive a manual transmission car... well
-Learn to weld <-----(Got that one done)
-Learn how to use basic, maunal machine tools
yadda yadda yadda

Its simple supply and demand economics.

Ant - Well, supply, demand, and government market tinkering.

What kind of prices are you predicting after the AWB sunset? My family has an UZI model A, unfired still in cosmoline with a 25 rd. mag and dummy barrel.

Vector Arms may make a domestic version if the ban is lifted; but I don't know how it would affect the pricing on the IMIs. I'm guessing everybody who wants one as a shooter would go that route and prices would come down some; but the IMIs would still command better prices as "the original" and be more collectible.

That's a WAG though.

IIRC I paid about $400 USD for a NIB Uzi model A (folding stock) with the 25 and 32 round mags, sling, and 'display' (fake) barrel in 1982 or 1983. Seems to me like I sold it for about $700 USD to a yahoo I know who decided he 'must have it!'.

I bet he has it buried in a PVC pipe up at his farm in Arkansas, waiting for 'The Big One'.

I used the proceeds to buy a Title II Uzi. :D

Rabbit.

We're not talking full auto here right? Who would want a semi auto UZI. Kinda defeats the purpose.

Like drinking non-alcoholic beer
drinking decaf coffee
Eating a veggie burger
Driving a ferrari on streets with 45 mph limit
Driving an SUV but have no kids
Playing in an adult softball league without any hope of getting to the majors
Owning swords that you will never use
Owning a semi auto AR or AK

Kind of like that right?
:uhoh:

How odd you should mention this. I learned yesterday, in another thread on THR, that Vector Arms has lowered their prices to US$595 for a new manufacture, SBR uzi. (+$200 transfer tax, but that's out of their hands)

I don't have the figures on inflation in front of me, but my guess is that's less than Bartholomew Roberts or Sylvilagus Aquaticus paid in real dollars.

The 1988 Shooter's Bible shows the retail price at $698. I paid $450 for mine back around 1985. It came with all of the standard stuff and in a moulded plastic carry case.

in 1988

in my area they were 600.00 to much then and way to much now.they look cool but thats not worth the price to me,thanks, keith
