First gun was a Ithaca .22 single shot lever action rifle I bought for $25 when I was about 15 years old. Second was a Browning Sweet 16 shotgun that I gave $200 for about a year later. Sold the Browning for $250 to buy my first car which was a '62 Chevy Impala automatic with a 327 engine and white leather interior. Those were the days..........:)

I got into firearms later than most as I grew up in a slightly gun shy family. Shortly after I turned 21 I got my CCW and then bought a Springfield XD 25 Compact. I've been very happy with the purchase (and still have the pistol) but it is no longer my favorite gun...that title was taken from it by my first rifle purchased, a 1943 Springfield M1 Garand.

First purchase was a S&W M&Pc in 9mm. I should have gotten a .22 as my first gun but you live and you learn. I later traded it towards another pistol.

Daisy pump action pellet rifle when I was 10. Taurus model 669 .357 when I was 23.

I forget about my Daisy!! I took out a boat load of dangerous birds with that thing.....:)

Mine was the Sig Sauer P228 - didn't know what I had when I had it, got rid of it, and wistfully regret it... Oh well, life goes on.

In 1945 my grand father gave me his 410 single shot, still have it, To many to count since then but starting to weed them out to my grand kids.

Mine was a Remington air rifle - pump with a plastic stock - 1972. It was accurate.

first gun

In 1968 at a hardware store in Herdon,VA. I purchased a Remington bolt action .22 and kept it for many years, I believe it was $40 dollars. Of course, that was ten dollars more than my first car, a 1953 Dodge Coronet.

Not counting BB and pellet

First gun I ever owned is a Stevens Model 34 bolt-action .22, given me on my birthday in 1968. The first gun I ever bought was a Ruger RST-6 .22 LR in 1979. I still have and love both. I still use the Stevens for a relaxing day at the range shooting at 100 yards for practically nothing.

A Russian SKS. Dad gave it to me for Christmas when I was 8 (while every other 8 year old shooter was shooting .22s). I still have it and will never part with it.

first real (non-BB) gun would be a Remington 870 Police Magnum i put on layaway when i was still 17. Picked it up on my birthday and went shooting. That was great!

a cz75bd police i picked up about a year ago and love dearly. the same day my roommate picked up an m&p9 as his first gun

the bug has bitten me pretty had, as within the last year i've picked up a blackhawk/marlin 1894c .357 combo, a mosin nagant, and a cute little 10/22

still need an AR15 and an M-1

NEED i tell you!

Can finally post in the thread I have been skipping over reading. I bought a Mossberg 500 today!

a little s&w 5 shot snubbie chambered in .38 s&w short, which is basically an underpowered 9mm it fits in 9mm magazines/9mm fits in it. still have it, still carry it from time to time as a backup piece if i'm wandering the woods.

Inherited alot of guns but specifically had a Nickel Colt Gov't Series '70 willed to me. In that same collection I inherited, the first gun I shot was a Ruger Mark III .22LR

So I guess a Colt Gov't Series '70 .45ACP is the first gun I ever "owned".
