My first Guns
The first guns that were mine, were given to me Fall 2010.
I was driving an elderly family friend to visit his friends in Dothan Alabama.
We stopped at my aunt and uncle's house in Monticello, FL for dinner. He gave me an Inland M1 Carbine.
He also sorta permanently lent me a beautiful Winchester 1897 16 gauge shotgun that was made in 1905. It was his dad's (my Grandfather's) and matches the 1897 12 gauge shot gun my dad has. It was also made in 1905 and was my great grandfather's!
When we arrived in Dothan, my elderly friend gave me a Winchester 67, single shot .22LR.
That little 76 years old .22 can shoot way more accurately than I can, and honestly is so much fun to shoot.
That .30 Carbine rifle is what got me into reloading
The first NEW gun I BOUGHT was a Ruger 10/22 back in late February.
I will be attending gunsmithing school, so I have had to buy bolt action rifles.
In the last 3 weeks I have bought a (poorly aged) K98 for $150, a pristine Yugo M48 Mauser for $200, and a 1903A3 with a stock someone tried to sporterize. I paid $300 for that.
When I move to NC to start classes, the M1 Carbine is staying at home where is will be nice and safe!
