What was your first rifle?

Savage/Stevens Model 89 single shot .22 lr. It looks like a Winchester 92, but has a Martini style falling block. Got it for my 10th birthday, and still have it. The first rifle I bought on my own was a 10-22, followed quickly by a Marlin 336. Great memories of all of them.

A Marlin "auto-safe" 22 single shot on my 10th birthday. The first I bought myself was a Remington 700 30-06 left handed bolt.

Mossberg 22LR "youth model" bolt action single shot. I was so little my dad had to get a gunsmith to saw down the butt and reattach the rubber heel plate. Had a rear peep sight and a hooded front sight.

Another Remington 514, a Christmas gift when I was 11 or 12. Had it out a few weeks ago, and it still makes me grin.

My first rifle was a Ruger 10/22, purchased new nearly thirty years ago. Still one of the most accurate and trouble-free rifles I have ever owned.

First rifle that was actually "mine" was my Remington 700BDL in .270 Win. I got it for Christmas the same year I turned 13.

1st rifle - 10/22
1st centerfire rifle - Savage with an AccuTrigger, stainless hvy bbl, laminated wood stock in 308. I think it was a 12 BVSS, but this model is not currently advertised for 308. It still shoots better than I do.

Marlin model 60. A present from my Grandfather. He bought it on sale at Big 5 for $49.99 in 1988. I had just turned 16. My folks aren't wild about guns, Gramps thought that was crap, so we secretly kept it at his apartment until I turned 18. Fortunately he was not far away and on the way to where my friends and I went to shoot. The least expensive gun I own, but it has the most sentimental value.
