What will four years under Kerry spell for gun owners?

Kerry

If Waffles reads the THR.

The last time I checked federal law made it illegal to hunt ducks with an AR-15. I even think that law is older than the 1934 machine gun tax law/act.

I think with Kerry in office it would be a dark and dismal time for gun owners and defenders of 2A. I really believe that if Kerry gets elected many liberals will feel the need to hastefully pass any legislation to protect ourselfs from ourselves to make up for the 4 years of "enslavement" of Bush and for the last 10 years of republican controlled Congress. Unless common sense prevails the sheeple will just smile and nod as liberties are removed.

I'm not exactly happy with Bush as president and once again I'll be voting against someone, not for someone. I'm so tired of having to sort out the better of two evils, I keep asking myself when is our champion going arrise from the grassroots and steer this country back on track.

I keep hearing that people shouldn't vote because of single items, but some single items are worth supporting because the aftermath of certain rights being removed makes it more than a single item. If they would somehow succeed in disarming the law abiding public, next would be abridging the power of the press and so forth, domino effect.

Not trying to be a pessismist paranoid, but sometimes you have to think that way.

The day the government tells you what you do and do not need, you need to get up and tell them what you do and do not want.

The real threat is that Bush's 'compassionate conservatism" will not motivate his "base" to go to the polls and Congress will slip over to the Dems. Congress can limit bad gun legislation, but only if we vote.

You're despicable!

I need an AR-15 to hunt Daffy Duck. 12 ga. birdshot only singes his feathers and twists his beak up at odd angles. He always manages to reattach said beak, and continue talking in perfect, albeit somwhat lispy, english.

If Kerry gets elected, and starts grabbing guns, I'll be expecting a fair amount of THR'ers to be moving to Vermont/NH to found the resistance :)

Absolute disaster. A horror show on wheels. The literal Tribulation. I just wish to God I was dug-in somewhere in some fortified, defensible place, before the Marxoid Krypto-Kommie Kerry gets in there and unleashes all his Kerry Kops and Kerry Kommandoes on all us "terrorists" suspected of "guncrime."

And he's going to win, I predict. The American people as a whole are actually that clueless and/or vernal. Better be stocking up and digging in now. Get some halfway decent body armor and a kevlar helmet.

Here's the REAL problem:

A Kerry win will tell lower-level Dem politicians that they can gun-grab all they want, rack up a 100% HCI/VPC voting record and still win the brass ring.

After Gore's defeat, a growing chorus of Dem strategists started to see a problem with major grabbers at the national level. The rise in shall-issue states has made gun-grabbing a risky political strategy.

Kerry is far WORSE on guns than Gore. If he still manages to win, we here in California will be SCREWED next year...utterly hosed. And not by the Feds, but by state-level Dem legislators who all go "cool, the brakes are off".

Arnold *might* slow the tide...but even veto overrides are possible (we have some shaky GOP).

However: Kerry does a crash'n'burn, and two things happen:

1) Low-level Dems realize their advancement opportunities are limited if they go grabber...

2) The Dem power brokers realize they have to stop putting major grabbers forward and look to people who are at least halfway sane on guns (Dean, Edward, etc). Major Dems who won't recognize this reality will have their power crippled.

Bush

Must

WIN.

Now, 18 year old Europeans can't vote in the US presidential election, can they? Meh, I thought so...otherwise I'd help ya out.

I think we have enough support in the House to prevent Kerry from passing much anti-gun legislation.

The really, really scarry thing would be that he might get to appoint a Supreme Court Justice.

That's the kind of thing that should keep you awake at night worrying about.

I'm more than a little concerned about what kind of Justice Bush might appoint with his support for some of the worst parts of the Patriot Act.

However, I'd much rather have him picking the candidates than Kerry.

I feel the same way you guys do. I think we are in deep trouble if the Dems can turn the tide. We have to hope that Bush can pull it together and Nader can play spoiler for the Dems again.

If Kerry wins the pendulum will swing more to the left. Imports of fun guns will stop first, then Kali style registration will go national. Then the usual 10% will follow the law and actually register. 90% of the fun guns won't be registered but when a police officer catches an otherwise law abiding citizen, the law abiding citizen will have his life destroyed with a felony. The local cops will do the dirty work of the liberal Democratic government. Of course gun shows will stop, ammo and components will be taxed to hell, and alot of gun companys would go out of business.

Then the real gun control will start......:what:

And sadly, the U.S. will have the same rise in crime that Australia, the U.K and Washington D.C. experience. :barf:

Kerry vs gun control

Actually, I doubt that kerry would do anything to restrict the legitimate ownership of legal fire arms.He would lose too many of the southern states and right now he needs all the votes he can get. Remember that he must have the support of congress to get laws passed. the majority of congress is under the thumb of the N.R.A. especially in the south and west. Hey face the facts , money talks and B.S.walks and the N.R.A. doles out a bunch of it. (both items). Granted Kerry may attempt to limit certain types of weapons to appeal to the extreme left but he would first have to get congress to approve and that ain't gonna happen with a republican dominated congress.
While the rkba is important, I do not think it is as important as other items;therefore, it will not be a determining factor when I vote.

Four years under Kerry might be four years in which the congressional Republicans rediscovered their spines. We might actually have defenders of freedom, instead of those who roll over at the wave of a flag, or the mere invoaction of an "(R)" in the political party column..

Kerry doesn't congress to enact restrictions. There is plenty of laws and regulations on the books right now to do everythiing necessary to further restrict RKBA. He's go 700 prosecutors whose job was limited to gun crimes. He's also got bATFE and its successor looking for something to do.

If Kerry is elected President? Here is what I think...

I see the bad man arising.
I see trouble on the way.
I see earthquakes and lightnin'.
I see bad times for America today.

Don't you vote for Kerry,
Well, He's bound to steal your guns,
There's a bad man on the rise.

I hear ATF sirens ablowing.
I know the end is coming soon.
I see jail cells over flowing.
I hear the voice of rage and ruin.

Don't you vote for Kerry,
Well, He's bound to steal your guns,
There's a bad man on the rise.
All right!

Hope you got your rifles together.
Hope you are quite prepared to die.
Looks like we're in for nasty weather.
Every gun confiscated means a life.

Don't you vote for Kerry,
Well, He's bound to steal your guns,
There's a bad man on the rise.

Don't you vote for Kerry,
Well, He's bound to steal your guns,
There's a bad man on the rise.

Creedance Clearwater Revival did NOT write the song this way, I did.
Spread it far and wide if you choose.

Taxes will start going up so that Kerry can pay for all the welfare programs
the he is going to start for all his new "Friends" because they got him
Elected.
The military will be put under the control of the U.N.. Not all at once but
groups here and there for this and that reason. The military budget will
be cut by 3/4. People will be leaving the military in mass numbers which
will increase the unemployment in leaps.
The economy is going to come to a teeth jarring halt and you can bet that
inflation and gas prices will increase from here. Stock market will take a
dive because people will want to get their money out of the country and
into off shore banks.
Federal regulations will skyrocket for the Automotive companies on clean
air and gas mileage. Then on power plants, water recycling plants and in
general manufacturing over all. That will push the economy over the edge.
Kerry won't need congress to pass any laws. He'll use and
Presidential order (Executive order) that will have DiFi drooling all over
herself. He'll start with ammo just to be nice to Kennedy. The old military
stuff we like and the .50 cals will go first. Then anything that will "penetrate" a policemen vest. Which means most all rifle ammo. Then
something will happen and DiFi will asks for handguns and thats where
you get the executive order to pick them up.
At that point in civil unrest doesn't happen, it never will.

I don't think he would be extremely controversial in his first term because he would have a concern about being elected to a second term. During that time the Democrats could gain strength, elect more Democrats to Congress in 2008, and then WATCH OUT!...ultra liberal all the way, the true John Kerry.

ERRR Don old guy, maybe you ought to rethink thatone.

The way I see it is if they dont trust you with a GUN WHY in HECK would you trust them with the power of the OVAL OFFICE???????

When someone is a crook they think everybody else is one too.

RKBA is the proverbial canary in the coal mine for ALL of our rights and freedoms.
