What would you buy if the ban was coming?

I'd buy myself a Congressional Seat. If I could find another 539 people of like mind to also buy themselves a seat, we could kill the AWB in short order.

That's our problem isn't it, finding people who have read the constitution and understand it. Lot's of interesting responses, Sam Adams had a pretty sharp idea, he'd double his investment in .50 ammo I suspect. I think I'd concentrate on ammo and mags for widely used military type semis, AR15, M1A, FAL and AK. Likely to be parts and such available somewhere somehow. The Ruger 10/22 mag comment was also a good idea, need to check on what the best mags are. Then case lots of appropriate ammo followed by reloading components. I'm still not sure about the .50 although the receiver might be a good start.

Everything I could with every dime I could beg, borrow or steal! :D

To be honest, I’m already buying with the assumption that another ban is coming. Don’t get me wrong, I will do what I can to prevent another ban but that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop being a realist.

It would be hard to say what you should buy without knowing the exact specifics of the ban? There is a good chance that the next ban (assuming there is one) will be similar to the CA ban. That means there is no point in hording guns and magazines thinking you will be able to sell them off for huge profits in a few years. What you have is what you will keep until you either die or decide to turn it in for no compensation.

I would suggest one thing… buy as much of what ever it is you think you need or want now. If congress passed a new ban today, even if it didn’t go into effect for another year, you can guarantee everything on the list will double in price by the next day and within a week would be very hard, if not impossible to find.

Good point CGV I forget to factor in that next day price increase as soon as the ban was passed let alone effective. I'd better get busy. The wife's birthday is next month, maybe an AR lower in pink? :)

1. AR-15 stripped lowers. there still isn't enough to go around after the ban. demand is high and there is also a war going on so it is hard to get stripped lowers.

2. AK-47 stripped lowers. parts kits are readily available and are inexpensive.

3. hi cap mags for AR and AK. right now AK mags are like $7-10 and USGI AR mags are $15-20.

4. maybe 1 or 2 beta mags.

that is my opinion based upon the feeding frenzy after the AW ban sunset. i couldnt keep AR-15's, stripped lowers, or mags in stock. i still can't.

Mags. More mags. Still more mags. AR and AK mags. Various pistol mags. Rifles without telescoping stocks and bayonet lugs are an annoyance, but neutered mags are a liability.

personally, i don't care about .50bmg's. haven't fired one, so my opinion may not be that valid, but i think it's a bit big... .458 Lott should be just fine(if i ever go that big)...

if i was really rich, i'd probably buy one out of spite if anything... hah.

A bunch of 16 round mags for my CZ75, a bunch of AK mags, as much ammo as I can get in spam cans and reloading components.

Ditto on 10/22 mags! i plan on buying as many 50 rounders as possible over the summer. LAST AWB they were scarce like nothing! they were out there all right, but NOBODY wanted to part with them, and the peole that did wanted a weeks salary for one!

Id definately buy all the thngs on my *Dreans list, like a few 5-7's, a SOCOM 16, and one of each type of SKS...Maybee one of each caliber VEPR-k also.

If the ban was coming

Some kind of horse to ride to Richmond, VA to join the Army and a brand new .58 caliber Springfield w/bayonet, and a map to Gen. Beaureagrd's HQ to serve the cannon firing once again on Fort Sumpter.

Being serious, if that is possible, being the joker I am, just wait until the next election and fight via the ballot. We did well in November last and as yet the ATM doesn't burn out voters. :)

Two dozen (more) Glock magazines and twice that many AR mags. Twenty or thirty AR-10/FAL magazines. Two or three ARs, and I'd finish the six lowers I have now. One or two AR-10s. One or two .50 uppers for the AR. More magazines.

Between cash on hand and credit cards, I could probably stretch to cover all that.

- Chris

AR-10 (getting one anyway, soon)

FAL (getting one anyway, not so soon)

Windrunner or Barrett .50

Exactly one metric ton of M14, FAL, and AR magazines. .50 ammo. Maybe a couple more AR receivers.

A home equity loan and selling a Harley should cover it, but if not, my credit cards will be groaning.

Yo Spreadfire,
What exactly is a stripped Ak47 lower reciever and what good would it do me to have a couple...Nope I am not playing with ya..serious question...

More 10-22 mags...MANY MORE!!!

More AK mags

Prolly a couple of them sets for the ak47 are coming my way if I can figure out what good they are... :D <~~not mechanically inclined!

some Hicap CZ mags

Some Hicap Glock 17 mags

3 Sten parts kits...Me machinist and press brake dude...you guys figure that one out

I wouldn't buy anything. I confess to not having any personal interest in the guns banned in the first AWB - I'm happy with my bolt action rifles, so far they do everything I want.

Today it'll be the evil semiautos.

Tomorrow it'll those evil SNIPER rifles.

I don't know if this counts, but the Beretta Storm and KelTec carbine in .40 are pretty damn fun to shoot. I already have the HiPoint...
