Here is the deal you just somehow managed to get a Christmas Bonus of 1,000 dollars. You weren't counting on the bonus and already had money set aside for everyone else's Christmas so now you can buy yourself a nice present. You want the most bang for your buck what would you get? Here is my list.
1. 300 rounds of 308 ammo Cost 190
2. 300 rounds of 223 ammo Cost 105
3. 20-60 Spotting scope Cost 60
4. Reloading components Cost 240
5. Mossberg 500 Cost 260
6. Mosin Nagant Cost 80
And I have 65 bucks left for tax/shipping.

Probably tactics training for myself, my wife, and my almost-teenage son.

One high priced stupid idea.......................................................... $400
One Savage Model 12 BVSS in .25-06........................................ $600

Where?? My last AR with modest "trimmings" cost me $1150
Well now AR prices have dropped and a new AR costs about 650-750 if you look hard enough.

Now the Marlin 336 & Ruger Redhawk 4" both in .44mag would be nice.
But I was thinking a Ruger No. 1-A in 7x57 would also be nice.

Marlin 1895, .45/70 w/ 22" barrel, peep sight (not sure which brand yet), big loop lever, Ammo. Probably won't be able to get a whole lotta ammo, but, whaddya gonna do.

Not getting an AR in CA for that money.

Anyway, it's funny you should ask, I just ran across about 1600 in unexpected funds this week, and all I got to do was pay bills with it :p. On the upside, my bike is now paid off so yay me I guess.

I own a Springfield Loaded.

For $765 I can send it back to Springfield and they turn it into into a Springfield Tactical Response model.

Install TRP™ barrel & bushing (bull barrel system in pistols shorter or longer than 5”), skeletonized delta hammer, low mount Novak rear sight &

ambidextrous thumb safety, custom fitted beavertail grip safety, adjustable lightweight aluminum match trigger, full length guide rod w/heavy duty
recoil spring & buffer system (buffer system not available in pistols shorter than 5”), flat checkered mainspring housing; tune & polish extractor;
deburr pistol internally; carry bevel™ sharp edges of pistol; machine checker front strap 20LPI (+); check headspace; polish feed ramp & throat
barrel; combat action job w/smoothly tuned 4.5-5.5# trigger pull; recontour frame and dust cover to 2002 specs; front cocking serrations; Armory
Kote™ finish, satin finish, stainless steel, or carbon models. Additional charge of $75 to add Springfield, Inc. 2-piece mag well, matched to bevel
on frame of pistol.

Based on the line about buying reloading components I assume you reload. Do you not already load for 223 and 308? If not, buy the dies and what not to get that going. Its kinda hard to recommend a gun because i'm not sure what your into or already have. But how about buying but a nice gun near $1k? Not something like a $1k ar, but something real fancy, like a python or arsenal ak? Good luck, be sure to let us know what you decide on.

Hello friends and neighbors // Going to the gun show tomorrow with $1100.00(been saving for months) if prices are too high I might come home with it all. Really going because a friends want help looking for a S&W442 (like mine);)

Here is my list:
For Mosin Nagant:7.62/54R ammo and extras ///$200.00
For 1861 Navy .36cal: Goexfffg, #10caps,round balls/// $250.00
Misc. ammo for .357 magnum, 38+P, 38 target,.30-06,22lr,12ga./// $250.00
Tax:$52.50
Total:$752.50 This leaves $347.50

Might turn into some of these:

S&W model 617, 10 shot(used)
Marlin .357 lever(used)
Reloading set up (but I doubt it)
.38 Long Colt Conversion cylinder for 1861 Navy .36cal
Pump action .410 (used) great teaching, small game getting tool
Longer grips for my S&W 442
Rubber Butt pad for Mosin
Extra ammo for any or all firearms

Or one or my "friends" might stop me before I spend the last $347.50:rolleyes:

Yes I reload and have been reloading for 223 for some time I do like to take factory ammo to training classes though. Last month I purchased my first 308 and have not established a good quantity of factory ammo yet. I like to shoot ammo to get my brass as much as I can. I am contemplating starting a WWII rifle/pistol collection as well.

My short list:

WWII era Colt 1911
1903 Springfield
Remington 700

Any leftover balance would be saved to go towards a quality scope in the case of the Rem 700. $1k probably wouldn't cover my 1911 or 1903 but it would make a nice dent.

2000 rounds of Wolf .223 and a carbine class with Larry Vickers, balance made up with Magpul PMAGs.

100 lbs of monogrammed bubblegum?

i like your list, but w/o the mosin or mossberg.

all the guns i want are >$1000 (SR25, SR15, benneli m1/2)
but 2 more cases of prvi m193, or as much match 308 as i could afford would be great
another case of 100 pmags would be good too

I really don't know if I want the Mossy or the Mosin. I have a tricked out M500 and would like a bare bone stock one too, I see the Mosin as a good entry into WWII milsurps but they are the only items on my list that I am undecided on.
