First Caveat: Of the three handguns mentioned I only own a Glock 43. So choosing from those three the only one I could recommend is the one that I have experience with.

Second Caveat: I really wasn't impressed with my glock 43. I ended up with a Glock 26. If I had to recommend a gun close to what you have listed I would go with the Glock 26 or if you wanted something with a slightly thinner grip I would recommend an M&P Shield 9 first generation. I'm confident recommending that gun because I have experience with it.

I could suggest an M&P Shield Plus but I can't recommend it because I've never shot one

Of your options and based on my experience with all of the brands you listed and for CC, I’d get the Glock. It’s reliable, durable, easy to maintain and cheap to replace.

My gripe with the 938 is the trigger. That’s a hard pull even changing springs. I like the ergonomics though. Then comes the P365 and got the trigger right and more rounds to boot. I like my XD’s but the sub-compact is too big for comfortable carry, IMHO, unless under a big coat. They are a good, accurate shooter. The Glock at 23 oz loaded is still a bit big, but would work and would get my vote of the three.

The P365 is a sweet carry.

My suggestion is consistently the Shield Plus. For me (for me), it's good enough that I don't think I'll ever hunt for another belt-cc pistol. Here's a comparison: https://www.handgunhero.com/compare/glock-g43-vs-smith-wesson-m-p-9-m2-0-shield

You can also run comparisons with the others on there. The Shield Plus is slightly larger than the G43, but gets you 13 rounds. The ergos are fantastic for me, and my 9mm Shields have been remarkably reliable. (I did have a .45 Shield that gave me some trouble, in all fairness).

ETA: I'll also add that my Plus did need about 100-150 round break-in period, but it's been 100% once I got it "settled."
I would like to second this opinion. I'm 69 and I've carried everything from .357 revolvers, 1911, Glock 19, Glock 26, HKvp9sk and now it is the Shield Plus. It is the Performance Center model with 4" barrel and red dot.
I'm not looking for another carry weapon! It has been flawless, great trigger and very comfortable to wear in IWB kydex style holster.

I selected the .45acp 3.3" XD-s primarily because that is what I have usually carried since I got my first one in Aug'13. The XD-s Mod2 that I bought 6 years later is even a bit better, starting with factory-installed front tritium sight.

The XD-s Mod2 is on my belt as I type this.

Almost as comfortable and effortlessly-accurate in my hand as my .45acp Glock 30S ... almost. ;)

I long term loaned my Rock Island GI 1911 to my neighbor after he mentioned wanting to try a 1911. He's had it for about 6 months now. Last time I saw him, I told him to think about even trading me his Glock 43 for it.

I rotate between 2 carry guns, a Glock 43X and Ruger LC9s Pro. The 43X is for when I drive to the big city and want more capacity (15+1 in the gun & 20rd backup mags). The LC9s is for pocket carry around the house / small town. I carry 2 spare mags with it.

A 6 round capacity Glock 43 makes little sense to me. However, if this trade goes through I will be equipping 1 of the mags with a MagGuts 8rd spring & follower:

The other mag I will equip with a less expensive +2 mag base:

I might then retire the LC9s Pro. Last I looked on Gunbroker they were selling for $600!!!

I was thinking that if I did get the G43 I would be looking into a shield arms 10 rd magazine. And see if that little pinky base plate extension would work on it.

I have only ever handled the G43 out of the three but didn't like the ergonomics which is why I don't own one. I know a lot of people who carry M&P Shields and they love em. One that I've heard many, many times over is the Beretta APX A1 is an amazing sleeper that for unknown reasons tends to get overlooked. As for me it's my Taurus G3c...... Yup, you read that correctly. My sub $300 Taurus is reliable, accurate, and runs like a trooper, 1000 round count, no problems. Actually my G2c and G3 run the same and I know my TX22 will also when it arrives. If there's a problem the revamped customer service will fix the problem quickly. Pretty sure that's gonna elicit some strong hate mail......... ;)

If the OP is willing to consider other options...

If I carry a semiauto, it's a Kahr. They're smaller and lighter than any of the other options I've tried. The 9mm is 6+1 capacity. Smooth DAO trigger like a revolver. If you like the trigger, it's a great choice. Some people don't like the trigger. Well worth holding one to find out.

I own or have owned a bunch of CC semiautos, but prefer to carry the Kahrs over any of the others. Also available in 380, 40 S&W, and 45acp, if any of those is preferred.

Because the OP indicated he was open to suggestions, I will note I own, carry, and shoot Glock 43X, Hellcat Pro, Glock 48, and others. I recently acquired a Taurus GX4. 11+1 but slim. Shoots like a larger gun. Easy to conceal. I like it so much that when I found another one for sale at $230 with the rebate, I bought the second one.

I've had all three but I don't have any of them right now since I started carrying the Sig p365 five years ago. If I had to choose one of the three, it would be the 43. It was the last one I sold to fund the Sig.

The P938 was a decent gun but it wasn't as robust as the Glock 43. The XDs was a chunk and I did not like the recoil in .45 ACP. Follow-up shots were slower than with the other two guns. The 43 was OK, and it was robust and could be shot a lot. The capacity was limited, though, compared to my Sig.

I really wish that the 43 and 48 took the same style magazine like being able to put a G17 magazine in a G26 that would have made my decision easier. Thanks everyone for your suggestions

I am another guy who has a Glock 43 but wasn’t enamored with it, so I went with a 43X MOS for ccw. (I added the pinky hook baseplates.)

I recently put a Primary Arms dot on it to give that combo a try. This target was from the first time out shooting them together, if you are inclined to try a dot on a ccw gun I think you may find it a winner for you.

A new holster is soon in my future as my old one won’t fit the dot.

Stay safe.

I picked up a PSA Micro Dagger slide with a Holosun Red Dot on it. I'm still learning it and the slide has not made it into my carry rotation, yet.

That being said, I found I was able to trim (saw) a little off the side of my kydex Glock 43X holster to get the red dot to fit.

You might think about doing the same if your holster is kydex.
