What would you tell a new G26 owner?

To the best of my knowledge, all Glock mags are interchangeable. Just have to get the extensions to fill the gap. The 33 rd G18 mags will fit in the 26, just doesn't look "right".

What a coincidence, I just bought a Glock 26 this past weekend at a gun show. It was NIB, but somehow they ended up giving me FOUR magazines! Is that normal? Three of the mags already had Pearce pinky extensions on them, one was shaped like the rest of the Glock grip with all of the nubbly things on them, while the other two were completely smooth and didn't really blend with the rest of the gun grip. Odd.

So as far as changing the trigger to an NY setup goes, what all is needed? Just a connector? Or a spring AND a connector?

.

I love the 26. Its a surprisingly accurate gun. Add the pinky
extension and its quite comfortable, too. It disappears under clothing
if you have a good hi rise rig. I haven't had any issues with needing
a trigger job, but I did put extendo-levers on mine.

Cheeseybacon, no they only come with 2 mags. At least all the ones I've seen pass through my dealer.

If I had one thing I would do if I had to do it over. Get the 27, then if you want to shoot 9mm you just replace the barrel. With the 27 you can also drop in a 357 Sig barrel and shoot that. My 27 cost the same as the 26 and I still have both.

I love 1911's, but I did switch over to carrying the Glock.

I guess the next big question is, what is a good pocket holster (I wear pants with über large pockets) for these little Glocks?

G-lock owner...

I'm not very fond of Glocks for duty use/protection. If I were to buy a Glock pistol here are a few things I'd do;

1) Get the NY-1 trigger. This will increase they trigger pull a bit but will also make it smoother and better for CC/duty use.
2) Get high quality 3 dot night sights. I like the IWI type but I'm not sure they still sell them. The "Big Dot" model is a good sight system too.
3) Consider a Lasermax lasersight. These units are not cheap but a laser dot mat assist you in a high stress critical incident.
4) Get some full size 9mmNATO mags for spare carry/back up. They will function in your sub compact Glock 26 and offer more rounds(firepower). Don't get the 33rd 9mmNATO mag. I don't think that would work ok in a model 26. ;)
5) Get more detailed information about Glocks from this useful website; www.glocktalk.com .
6) For a good pocket holster check out the DeSantis Nemensis for small Glock models. It has a tacky covering that sticks to your pocket and protects your weapon. They sell for about $14.95USD.

PS: read the Glock owner's manual and watch the clip of the DEA Special Agent in Orlando FL shooting himself with his duty Glock. It should make you think about safety/firearm use. It's all over the web but you can get it here; www.ebaumsworld.com .
