How's that old saying go? Oh yeah, Second place is just the first loser. :D

If there wasn't a 1911 available in .45ACP, but there was in 9mm, I'd become a little bore fan.

HK USP .45

or

HK USP .45 Compact

or

HK USP .45 Expert

or...

HK USP Tactical(The tac only comes in .45 :) )

:D

Sig P220 would be second ;)

Oh and that is INCLUDING the 1911!

I have been surprisingly pleased with the Sig P245. I would love to try the P220 that everyone raves about.

Tried the Glock 21 and it was just too big.

Have read alot of interesting thoughts. Everyone needs to have and shoot
what appeals to their personal likes. I am just glad that everyone here
has a gun and is able to express an opinion about it...Me---I just came in from the back yard after a short shooting session with my CS 45D.Love
this gun...

Keep shooting and talking.

cz97b
After a lot of research for the best average of quality, capacity, n price, the cz97b came 'head n shoulders' above all others.

Kahr PM40, if its not a 1911, its a backup/deep concealment gun :)

Second choice would be Taurus PT100/101 .40S&W or PT92/99 9mm since they can be used cocked 'n' locked and handles pretty much like a 1911.

S&W M457/Bersa Thunder 45

I will join SouthpawShootr with the S&W Model 457 being the best kept secret out there. I am also very fond of my new Bersa Thunder 45. These two pistols are compact, accurate, reliable, and reasonable. Before anyone asks, yes, I also own Rugers, Smiths, Glocks, and Sigs in 45acp. Regards, Richard:D

I am also very fond of my new Bersa Thunder 45.

Fondled one at the last gunshow. Not bad, especially given the price. However, in trying out the safety, I picked up several metal splinters. I'd already made my purchase for that show, so there was no negative impact. Just beware when you get down that low in price, the are going to be some unexpected things happening. I probably won't be picking one of these up anytime soon. I have enough small .45s for the time being.
