What's in your nightstand?

Nightstqand too cluttered with DVD, TV and audio remotes!!!:D

I do actually have a thing about the piece being either atop the nightstand and so visible ... or being in a fiddly drawer that I sure as hell don't wanna have to open real quick.

NO ... my carry piece comes out of holster at bedtime and lays on floor ... just under bed but ... within QUICK and easy reach from a dropped hand over side .... it sits with muzzle pointing to foot of bed and this way it comes to hand real well .... and it ain't really visible to any BG who just might be standing at doorway!!:p

Colt LW Commander
Scorpion Streamlight
2 spare mags
Cell phone
Two remote controls, 1 for TV, 1 for VCR
Couple of gun info-rags
M&M's and other assorted chocolate
A few shotgun shells (You didn't ask about what was UNDER the nightstand)

ZM

Glock 27 w/ Trijicon's on top and Surefire L4. Second shelf: S&W .38 Special, Buck "Nighthawk" in the sheath but "unsnapped", and a PALight.
(When I'm gone or *anybody else comes over, everything but a pocket pistol is locked in the safe.)

KR

4" S&W 686
belt slide holster for 686
KT P32
S&W folding knife
couple of 12 gauge rounds for filling up the Mossberg 500 that sits between nightstand and wall (it's not quite fully loaded, to save wear on the springs)

I don't have a nightstand... but if the question is "what do you keep nearby in case of an *ahem* emergency.... I keep a flashlight, an HK USP .45 Compact, and an HK USP 9mm

"Bedside Table Companion" is a Springfield Champion Model 1911-A1, with a spare mag, and a 6 D-Cell Maglite.

Inside my nightstand? A few car/gun magazines, HK brochures,my SL8-1 Operators Manual and some assorted Toyota brochures from the uttermost parts of the Earth. There are also some AA, AAA, C, D and CR123A batteries laying around in there as well. Oh, and a smattering of 9mm and .223 Remmy rounds..

On top of my nightstand? A lamp, my 200 Lu SF G2, a CMG Infinity Ultra, a Glock 19 w/ Trijies, 2 spare hi-caps, a black Streamlight 20X w/SL-35 L.A. (in the far corner), Inova Microlight (on my keys), and an OD green BM 551 Grippy.

(Now that I think about it, I really need to buy another nightstand so I have something to put my new P7 on, as well as my various other light emitters.) :uhoh:

edited to add: After digging around in the top drawer of my N.S., I also found some 1966-'80 Topps football cards (in a clear acrylic case) that were way in the back. So that's where I left them.. Cha-Ching!! :D

What's in your nightstand?

Trouble, if you dare to break into the house.

But to answer your question, Glock 23C loaded with Hydrashoks & spare mag, BHP and spare mag with some sort of hollowpoint I've had for years, and Mrs. AZLib's Walther PPK and spare mag with alternating HPs and Glazers. Flashlight for each of us. All in a GunVault.

If I've got time, and there's still more work to be done, I'll be moving to the closet to retrieve the Mossy 590 ready to go with 00 buck.

IN the nitestance, nothing - as mine is just an end table. :)

But ... in my corner of the bedroom, I have:

357 magnum revolver
Led flashlight
VFD pager in charger
glasses
watch
clothes & boots
commercial fire extinguisher
AK with 10 round mag

Don't make me have to come see what the dogs are barking about

I don't have a nightstand. Near my bed I keep a Boker "Original Bowie" knife, a 3 D cell Mag lite, and the gun varies. I usually have my Taurus 85 loaded up since it is always loaded (and usually on my person when at home) during the day so why bother unloading it. Right now I also have my Colt Police Positive Special loaded with +Ps (it is my cheapest gun so if G-d forbid I am in a self defense shooting it is the one that if the police take it as evidence and it gets messed up I'm out the least and it works just fine). I sometimes have one of my S&W .357s instead. I also sometimes load up my Charles Daly 1911 or CZ 75B, but I always have one of the revolvers ready to go.

S & W 64 w/Glaser+P, 2 speed loaders, Mag Lite, cell phone [on], fire extinguisher, dog collar and leash (all on dresser as I have no nightstand)

(collar OFF at night, chump learned how to rattle his tags loud enough to wake me up. No more of THAT)

Don't have a drawer

On top is my lamp/clock, a phone, a small fan, and a 2D mag light. Between it and the wall is my pruned Stevens 311 loaded with 4's.

The Wife has the same lamp/clock, a phone, a rechargable spotlight, and a riding crop. Between the table and the wall sits her new Mossberg Persuader.

misplaced keys, lost tv remotes, missing batteries, small hand tools,q tips and....a ratty looking old phone book.amazing how much junk can fit in that little drawer.dont keep a gun in our nightstand, would take too long to find it:D :D :D if the dog dont get em first,a rem 870 will.

Nothing gun related. 4" kimber under the bed, (holstered) where I can access it w/out making "drawer" noises.
fourdeuce82d - I think you are the only other person to mention floor!! But ...... you say it is holstered ...... strikes me that could radically slow your access time!

I unholster and lay mine just under edge of bed ...... pointing at end and grip to right ..... that way my arm can drop down under cover of quilt ... and it comes straight to hand ....... plus ... it is all but invisible to the casual glance too.

Seems with some people it is going to take them an uncomfortably finite time to access their piece ...... not a prob if it's ''noises downstairs'' .......... but if there was a threat at bedroom door .......... could be tricky trying to open a drawer or unholster etc.

Just pondering!! It's not that I'd be wanting to use the piece over much but ... it would certainly be reassuring to have it in hand and available ..... quick.

That's why the "good stuff" is by itself in the top drawer, and then junk is in the bottom drawer. This way I don't have to go fishing for my gun or flashlight.

four wilson mags loaded with 230 gr JHP......

and a maglite.
One of my 1911's rests under the pillow when I retire. Two others are stashed in discreet, but handy parts of the house with extra mags.
Other flashlights and various sharp or blunt instruments are also laying about for emergency duty.
My 'house' is extreme close quarters...so a longgun might not be as handy...though I am shopping for a new one to add to the collection.
Kinda in gypsy mode right now.

Some change, couple of knives, at least one loaded spare mag for my H&K USP .40 compact. The gun itself spends the night under my pillow. It's happier there. :)

don't own a night stand
keep Bogie's 1911 and a Winchester lever action handy when I sleep at his place. at my bunker is a 20 lb., 17 year old toothless house cat and a rifle that I sleep with. Me? Paranoid? :uhoh:
