I seem to recollect seeing a few Russian scopes with a range compensating reticule for 7.62x39mm's ballistics. I require something that either has a 1" tube or will mount to a weaver/picitinny rail
The documentation gives no indication of what the various marks would correspond to with 7.62X39 ballistics, but it's actually pretty useful for holdover on a .22. It is a 30mm tube, and the eye relief is very short. Very very short. I had to shorten the stock a bit to be able to get close enough to it. Reasonably good optics, though pretty dim.
Considering that the reticles on some of the Russian scopes were made for ridiculously long distances, they might actually be better suited to the 7.62x39. The IP21 with the magnification set at 9x has the hash marks ranged for 900m, 1000m, 1100m, 1200m and 1300m. You would have to run a ballistics program, do a little math and I doubt that the marks would indicate nice neat distances, but in a lot of ways you'd probably have a more functional scope.
