What's the most common...

I would have to say .357. I think I own multiples of almost every caliber. I don't really have a count but I know I have at least a dozen .357 revolvers and one .357 rifle. .22LR would have to be close though, I don't have a count on .22s. Then probably .223/5.56 NATO, I think I have six of those. I probably have around 5-6 9mms, no I take that back, if I count 9mm carbines I have at least 7 9mms. I don't know, but .357 surely takes it for me.

Unpleasantly so, this thread caught me off guard. About to skip on to the next thread, I gave the question some thought.
I realized that I have four 9mm handguns. I then remembered that I don't particularly like 9mms.

I also remembered that I only have two .45acps, my favored handgun cartridge.

I guess I'm a creature of strange habits. :(

Well, to answer the question, my most common handgun chambering is in .38special.

I am going to try and make this as accurate as possible:

2x .22
12x 9mm (HKp7/BHP/Glock/HKMp5)
2x .40S&W
1x .45ACP
8x .308 (7.62x51)
4x 12gauge
1x 10gauge (never fired)
1x .30 06
2x 7.62x39
1x .177 (no powder)
2x .44mag
Ok I think that about right...

36 firearms..... that can't be right I must be missing something.

Regards,
HS/LD

1 - 22 rifle
1 - 25 Raven
1 - 380 Llama
1 - 45 Para Ord.
1 - 7.62x39 SKS
1 - 12 gauge (the only S&W that I still own. Hey I'll take it only so far - it was my daddy's gun)

If I have my way, the 45 will pull into the lead. I want a Para LDA in 45 and one in 9mm.

3 .22's for me.

I have doubles of .38/.357, .30-06, and 12 gauge.

I'm looking for another .22 rifle and possibly a .357 lever action, so I may end up with a tie.

I sorta have mine spread out. Lemme think here:
  • .22LR: 3
  • .32ACP: 2
  • .380ACP: 2
  • 9x18: 3
  • .357MAG: 2
  • .40S&W: 1
  • .41MAG: 1
  • .44MAG: 1
  • .45ACP: 2
  • 7.62x39: 1
  • .223: 1
  • .270: 1
  • 12GA: 2

Well, I guess it's a tie between the .22LR & the 9x18. Of course, I haven't bought a gun for about 8 months so who knows....

I have four revolvers chambered for .357 Magnum.

Doubles in several calibers. No 9mm and no .22 handguns. They don't interest me.

Hokay...

Since some folks are doing breakdowns...

2x .44 Magnum
7x .45ACP
1x .41 Magnum
4x .357 Magnum
1x .44 Special
4x .38 Special
2x .32 H&R Magnum
2x 10mm Auto
1x .38-40
1x .22 Magnum
2x .22LR
1x 7.62x38 Nagant
1x .25ACP
1x .40 S&W
2x .32ACP
2x 9x19mm

1x 7.5x54 Swiss
2x 7.62x54R
2x 8x57JS
3x 7.62x51 NATO
1x .300 Whisper
1x 6.5x55
2x .30-'06
1x 7.7x58 Arisaka
1x 12ga
1x .45 Colt
1x .243 Winchester
2x 5.56x45 NATO
1x 7.62x39

Three of these are duplicates. For instance, if you have a .32 ACP cylinder for your Nagant revolver, a 10mm cylinder for your .38-40, or a .22 Mag cylinder for your .22 LR , which caliber is it?
