Gun fairy steals all you guns and leaves $20K

I would start with a nice S/A M1A
and a high end semi auto defensive
shotgun. Then i would buy as many
3" K and N frame prelock S&W's as
i could.

I'd start off with finding myself a nice, clean RC-30... I don't have a large collection compared to many here: a couple AR-15's,a .223 HK,a few milsurps,12-14 handguns...probably 28-30 guns in total but I probably wouldn't replace them one for one if I had to.I'd most likely buy used and get another SIG 239 for CCW,another S&W 66 for targets,a replacement Glock for being a Glock,a 16" AR and an 870.I didn't intend to become a collector of any sort,I just have problems selling things but at times it worries me that I've only been into guns for about the past 2 years.Yeah I know,I went almost 10 years owning only 1 gun and shooting maybe once a year!

Since I am still fairly young and poor, if the fairy took my collection and left 20K, I would:

1.) Replace everything
2.) And buy some more...

All in all, I would come out ahead.

E. Buy 100+ used and surplus guns that you could get for about $200 bucks apiece.

On second thought, I'd limit out on M1's end of December, limit out in January, and then find two more friends that could limit out for me.

I oughta have quite a collection of M1's, now that I think about it.

Then, throw in 8 1903's, and 8 1917's, and I would be happy. Maybe a couple of Kimber 82's, too.

CMP would love me at least.

I'm new, nice to meet you all, I'm sure will become familiar with time but anyway.

I'd buy first, a

1.) CQB Wilson 1911 .45 - $2k

2.) Barret M82A1 .50 BMG - $7.2k

3.) Mossberg 590 Special Purpose Model 12 Ga. - $525

4.) Springfield M21 .308 - $3000

5.) Sigarms P226R DAK .40 S&W - $669

6.) Marlin .22 Magnum 982VS - $234

7.) PTR 91R - $1000

I'm at 18,000

8.) I'd blow the rest on some over the top, very quality very fit to order .308 Bolt Action

Damn fairys. :D

Actually, 20k is roughly twice what I have tied up in my guns right now, so maybe I can forgive the little winged creep. Long as he didn't get my tools...

I'd replace my IPSC and 3-gun firearms first off -
Glock 35 USPSA Limited gun, Rescomp Mk2 sights, Vanek trigger, KKM stainless match barrel, milled front cocking serrations, NHO stainless guide rod, NHO stainless magwell, five magazines with Dawson +5 floorplates: $1200 or so.
Glock 17 USPSA Production/IMG gun, Rescomp Mk2 sights, Vanek trigger, 3 magazines with Dawson +6 floorplates and a half-dozen 15-rounders: $800 or so.
18" AR-15 w/ ABS 1:7" 5R barrel, F2 comp, JP internals and float tube, some high-zoot 4x optic: $2500 or so.
Since I can't replace my Franchi, damnit, I'd take a left-handed Benelli M2 Field, Dave's Metal Works +5 extension, 21" VR barrel with XS sights, SRM internals: $1500 or so.
And oh, what the hell. I'd order that Accuracy International/USO precision rifle/scope combo I've been dreaming about. $7000 or so.

How much do I have left? Seven grand? Whew. That went quick.

Two more AR carbines for classes, home defense, and the like. Say, $1500 each for nice ones with Global Tac 1:7" middy barrels, CMT parts and decent optics. $3000.
Two Glock 19s with Heinie Race Cut sights. $1000 for the pair.
Oops. Just realized I need magazines. Set aside a thousand for that, G19, ARs, and one AR Beta C-Mag.
Two grand left. That should just about cover a Jet suppressor for the .308, and an AAC M4-2000 QD suppressor for the AR. Kewl. :D

Enjoyable fantasy, eh?

- Chris

Definitely a Barrett .50 Cal (M82A1, M107, or XM109) and something in a class 3 full auto. If enough left over, an M60 in Semi-Auto.

Example:
1. Barrett M82A1 $7.5K
2. M60 Semi-Auto (from US Ordinance): $8K
3. Colby M10 or M11 $3.5K

Or

1. Barrett M82A1 $7.5K
2. M16 Full Auto $12K

Or

1. M60 full Auto $20K

A measley $20k? How do I replace my grandfather's gun or my father's gun? Why, I'd use that $20k out as a bounty to have that Fairy's head brought to me on a platter.:cuss: Now, then again, if those two guns were with my brother and I had nothing, I'd be a very happy camper and would burn a candle or incense (or is it insensed :p ) for the Gun Fairy.

Hey Gary-

Can we use the THR Yacht to take the Gun Fairy Thief offshore somewhere to ...err...persuade and convince him/ her/ it to tell where all the guns are that were stolen?

Puh-leeeze? :D

'sides - always wanted to shoot clays off a Yacht, always wanted to try this with a BP shotgun too. Oh that means we gotta have Dr. Rob tag along and bring his BP shotgun...

Umm...this Fairy hunting might be a fun sport afterall. :D

Sorry I cannot go along with your "Gun Fairy" stealing all of my guns and leaving $20 grand behind. You would find that what would happen in my house would be the discovery of one very dead Gun fairy, and one very happy me with all of my guns still readily at hand and with my wallet 20 grand fatter. I just don't like fairies, especially ones that want to take away my guns.

Of course, once I had that $20 grand I could run out and buy more guns but I think I'd pay of the college bill or finish paying my mortgage. Then I have a steady flow of cash with which to buy guns from not having to make those darned payments to the banks.

I would be very PO'd at that fairy - as a good portion of my collection came from my father and grandfather (both deceased). The weapons are priceless and irreplacable to me even though they are usually only "worth" $100 to $300 on the used market.
All of these weapons have great stories attached like first squirrel or rabbit or that gut shot deer or the quail that just disintegrated at five yards.
