What's the most irresponsible thing you've ever done to pay for a gun you wanted?

Apparently starting this thread did not shine the light of reason on me quite as brightly as I had hoped it would. My credit card company likes me a lot more today than they did thursday.

The most irresponsible thing I have done was bidding on a very uncommon desireable Colt revolver on GB. I wanted the gun. Let me make that clear. I bid a couple thousand more than I was comfortable paying and honestly would have had to do some digging to cover the cost IF I had won that particular auction. I didn't. I knew this gun would be worth.... thousands more in a couple years; essentially you could nearly name your price and get it from a wealthy collector if I needed to or wanted to sell down the road. I still question whether or not I should have tried harder to get that gun.....

It was irresponsible because it would have put the hurt on my finances for months. The gun was well worth what it ultimately sold for.

I passed up the chance for a marriage or three because they all wanted me to spend my money on them and sell all my firearms to fund this as well. Still single but in a solid relationship after all these years and own most firearms I want.

Funny. I know women like that and I know men that actually do such things. No women is worth selling my soul for. That was really irresponsible of you to not support her. :D
