I was at my local dealer and noticed the new (to me) beretta px4 storm. I handled it and it felt very good in the hands, very slick and seemed to have a good sa trigger. The only thing is that I'm really interested in the rotating barrel. This just seems so out there to me. Does anyone have any experience with this particular pistol, whether 9mm, .40, or .45? Any experience good or bad is helpful. As always thanks guys.

The rotating barrel is actually a very old design used by Steyr-Hahn back in 1911, and, may have been in use before that.

I have a PX4 Subcompact 9mm and it's a fine little gun that I depand upon on a daily basis. The subcompact does not have the rotating barrel.

PX4 Storm is a fine gun

I have the PX4 Storm in 9mm and the PX4sc in 9mm. The rotating barrel on the full size works flawlessly. I have ~ 1000 rounds through each of the guns.

Yeah, I have one in .40 and I love the rotating barrel. It seems like it takes a little bit of the snap out of the .40's recoil.

And I have never had any hiccups with it. Its actually my current bedside outfit. So I obviously think highly of the PX4

I had its predecessor, the Beretta Cougar in 45ACP, and now have the PX4 Storm in 9mm. Both have been excellent pistols. Don’t worry about the rotating barrel locking mechanism. It’s been problem free for me with both pistols. The rotating barrel system has also been used by Mauser in their M2.

I have 9mm and 40S&W Stoeger Cougar's. These are Beretta Cougar's under the skin. Rotating barrel same as the Storm. I have more than 1000 rounds through each of my Cougar's and the wear and tear is hardly noticeable on the rotating barrel/slide interfaces.

The PX4 full size is an excellent gun, as are the Cougars they were designed from. They have really strong actions, so if you get the 9mm, shoot em' HOT!

Ditto.
I have a Cougar in 9mm and one in 40S&W. The rotating barrel system works very well - don't let this keep you from a PX4. Having said that, I prefer the feel of the Cougar. For me the weight and balance of the Cougar provides better handling. The Cougar 9mm is a very well-handling gun.

So today I took my wife to the range because shes had an uncontrollable urge to shoot my new Walther PPS 9mm. Of course I didnt mind a trip to the range.

Iv been wanting to try out some new JHP's in my PX4 so I packed it too. I threw about 200ish rounds of various ammo downrange without any hiccups (as expected considering I have never had a single problem with it). Today I realized that my PX4 is one of the most fun to shoot guns I have ever shot.

When I bought it I was a bit skeptical about it, but every time I shoot it I like it more and more. It just handles the .40 cal better than any other platform Iv shot.

My wife has a SIG 226 that she will almost never deviate from at the range, but today I got her to shoot the PX4 and honestly Iv never seen her really like anything bigger than a 9mm, but she fell in love with the PX4 today.

Anyway, I just thought about this thread and I figured Id post that I had another great day with my PX4. So its up to 700 trouble free rounds. Its just a reliable fun gun.

I have one in 9mm and I love it. I sold my beloved XD subcomp to get it and I don't regret it one bit.

I have the .45 and have shot roughly 1,000 trouble free rounds through it. I think it is a great gun and am trying to talk the wife into a 9mm px4.
