What's with Sportsman's Warehouse? No stock!

Anyone else having issues with stock at SW? No one seems to know anything about what will come when and the shelves are practically barren of Xtreme plated bullets and primers of all brands... is there is shortage of stock at other component suppliers too? Really sucks! And has for a while!

The Dallas SW was pretty grim last I was there. The only small pistol magnum primers were some kind of fru-fru "match" magnum primers.

Oregon laser-casts consisted of a couple boxes and mostly empty shelves. I got their last box of XTP .41s.

Lots of brass and powder, though.

In San Antonio S.W. was almost out of power and primers 3 weeks ago.
Last week they got a lot of powder and some primers in.
They said the stuff was hard to find or get.

Just a example: I want to sell something but I don't want to tie my money up in inventory. I advertise a item and after I get 1000, or 10,000, or 100,000 people to comit to a sale I then approach a importer and buy in bulk, paying up front, and knowing it will all be gone as soon as I can ship. I get a MUCH better deal with bulk, and cash on the spot. I also don't have to wharehouse it.
YES! I do business with S.G. Their prices are great, if not their service.

It's the same story at our store here in the NW, it seems to me that sportsman's has they're money tied up and can't afford to restock everything, leaving reloading supplies on the chopping block.

We beat this topic to death a couple of weeks ago.
The SW is Lewisville was getting low on everything and then a couple of weeks ago when I checked, they had tons of powder and some primers in stock. I asked the guy behind the gun counter and they basically have to depend on their main suppliers to get things to them. They have the stuff ordered all the time, but have little control as to when it will be delivered.

And the war does not help.

I was at one in PHX a few weeks back, and could only find 1 bag of .44spl brass.
No win231 either. Only three boxes of 500 count 44 bullets.

my local sportsman has been low on lots of reloading stuff. Insult to injury, their primer and powder prices jumped %25. No thanks, I'll just buy at gun shows.

here in Fairbanks, Ak. sometime back I bought 3000 rnds of GM210's and a 2 of the GM215's for safety sake and now went back in a few days back and the shelves are still stocked with GM's and all-still don't stock N-150, now there is a bummer. oh - well RL15 will just have to do

Mine is always Very Low or Out of stock. Always.
I don't bother with them any more.
1 old 0311, It's doubtful SW has any money to tie up in inventory.
I can't see them having much in sales.

The SWs here in Coon Rapids and St. Cloud are hit & miss. Sometimes I'll go in with a list and come out with only 1 item but other times I'll find most of what I want.
They're nice, friendly folks but the store buyers need to be more aggressive in their purchasing.

This chain is financially stretched they built to many stores to fast.

A ha.... I was beginning to think the manufacturers of primers and copper plated bullets were falling down on production.

My local SW was the same way, untill about 6 months ago when a CABELAS opend 5 miles down the road!!! Since then they've kept plenty of stock. Prices are a few bucks cheaper at SW then at cabelas, but so so much so that if SW was out of something you'd think twice about buying it at Cabelas. SW figured out if they dont have it on hand, they simply lose the sale.

I was at the CR, Mn SW and the primer shelf was naked! Save for some Win primers... Powder was still priced decent, nothing like that of Cabelas up in Rogers. The best place in the metro is the Gunstop in Minnetonka, Mn. They have it if it can be had!

I haven't seen any large pistol primers at the Albuquerque Sportsman's Warehouse for about three months now. I check about once per week.

I sent this thread to Customer Service for Sportsman's Warehouse. They said they would forward it to the concerned personnel. They also replied in about 20 minutes, which speaks volumes.

The Sportman's Warehouse on the northside of San Antonio also has a problem with their reloading inventory supplies and ammo. Their personal defense ammo inventory is a joke!

I also sent them an e-mail a couple of months ago voicing my concerns about their inventory. To my surprise, my e-mail was actually answered within the week by their VP of logistics and supply (don't remember his name). He admitted that they did have problems supplying their stores. He also said that the military had first priority on several items that they had little to no stock of, such as certaind brands of primers, etc. He apologized for their problems and said they were working diligently to solve them but I have seen no improvement yet. I have gotten so discouraged that I hardly ever go by there anymore. Bass Pro Shops & Cabela's never seem to be out of the items Sportsman's Warehouse always is. Bass Pro Shops is located way across town for me and they are a bit pricey and Cabela's is located about 60 miles north. In the meantime, I have been ordering all my reloading supplies off of the net and hoping that the sales tax savings is helping me break even on the shipping costs.

I'm glad you sent this thread to them. Hopefully they will get off of their a***s and do something about it before they lose all of their serious shooting customers.

The SW in my area was also experiencing the same stock problems, however, today I went there and stock is on the shelf now. Ammo, primers, powder, not much in the way of bulk bullets but still more than they have had. Most noticeable was ammo supplies an reloading supplies. No CCI primers though.

in the news paper the other day in financial section it mention the gov. bought 467million rds last yr.this yr 1.6 billion rds and all the arsenals are going 24/7.that includes private co.so that could account for shortage.maybe

I've given up on Sportsmans Warehouse, I get everything from Midway. Usually, if Midway is out of stock on something, its not for long. Seeing how I live 40 miles from the nearest SW, I don't mind paying the shipping fee's. Going to town for me, its a pain in the a**.
