What's wrong with my glock?

over the past 4 years and 8 glocks with thousands of rounds i've had 1 problem that a tap rack bang cleared. it was my first G, don't know why the case hung up but i've never had a problem since. none of my .40's have blown up, none of my G30's frame cracked, no broken rails and no corroded mags or mag related problems, i have some first, second and third gens. the only mag problem i've had were weak springs, the only problem it caused was the slide not locking back on empty. i don't baby em either, they stay dirty for several hundred rounds, i forget to oil em after a couple months and they still run void of oil. they've been wet, muddy, etc.

what am i doing wrong? i don't have any of these internet problems.:confused: maybe a "real world operator" can post an answer here,.....anonymously......on the net.....if you have to encrypt the info i'll understand.......
 
All of mine must have came from the same batch.

All I can get them to do is fire first time, every time.

I did manage to get one FTF with a hard primer, does that count?

hankey, don't try and blame the primer. that pos G failed!
 
I read of a 17 that was left on the bottom of the ocean for a month and it worked perfect when it was brought to shore, my own have never failed even when my nephew limp wristed the things, yeah somthins wrong here.....tom

I feel the same way. I work in a secure building (with some very onery guys with mp4's at the doors), so I leave my Glocks in the SUV while at work... in Utah... over 100 in the summer and below zero in the winter, and I'm having the same problems with my Glocks as you are. Frustrating after owning several other brands, huh?

LOL. i have too, not as often as others, but with anything it can happen.

it amazes me what people will beleive on the net, and the glock haters here. but talking to them is like :banghead:
 
Most of the problems we've seen occur with Glocks on our range appear to have been either shooter-induced, or related to weakened magazine or recoil springs.

Only seen a single firsthand incident of a major manufacturer's premium load case failing, although the weapon appeared to be undamaged ...

Only know of 2 cases where the weapons have suffered a "catastrophic failure", where the frames were ruined ... a G22 and a G21. Both occurred at other ranges. The G22 happened while a family member was shooting it at a public range, using fresh factory ammunition ... and the G21 occurred at an academy range, but was brought to our range for us to see ...

These things can occur with any manufacturer's weapon ... I know of 2 Walther 99 series frames that suffered damage, a 9mm and a .40 S&W. Both of those instances required frame replacement, and were determined to be caused by ammunition problems.

All you can do is buy a good quality weapon ... maintain it properly ... use quality ammunition ... and if anything unusual occurs which makes you suspect something isn't right, have it inspected by the factory, a gunsmith or an armorer before you continue using it ...

I'm not in the firearms sales business, after all ... I just train L/E, some CCW folks, and work on some pistols and rifles ... I couldn't care less what brand of weapon you prefer, or vehicle you drive ... ;)

i just tire of the glock haters and their ignorance.
 
Shooter induced problem - shoot lead bullets. Can't do it with the Glock factory barrel. Lead will foul the barrel and will cause increases in barrel pressure as subsequent rounds are fired. Markco at TFL explained it in a thread looking at why Glocks go KB. Most of the time it's shooter induced and not the gun.
 
People will go to great lengths to make a poor argument against Glocks.

Mine work every time. Every time.

Speaking of internet legends . . .

No where in the Instructions for Use that Glock includes with all their handguns or anywhere in any official Glock publication can you find any warnings about shooting lead bullets in a Glock.

If lead bullets are really a problem in Glock handguns, Glock, Inc. in no way acknowledges it or warns against their use.
