Glock 26.5

I'm guessing that 10's of thousands of Glocks have been fired right out of the box without cleaning and without any problems. The lawyers always insist on those types of warnings.

and millions will fire less than one box of ammo over their lifetimes. What does that prove? Nothing.

I wouldnt get too wrapped up about the cleaning thing, as long as you clean it regulalrly.

Ive always cleaned new (and used) guns before I shot them and always cleaned the anti-seize out with the rest.

Maybe I shouldnt have, and my one 17 wouldnt have broke that rail at 150K. :)

The G26 is a fantastic gun. I just got a JM custom kydex holster for my gen 3 G26 and carried it today. Extremely comfortable.

A 26 was my first Glock, and it went straight to an Ayoob class; Mas gave me a buck since I tied his score. It's a little, squatty thing, that shoots far better than it should. It even fit in the lock box in the Jeep, with the 10 round mag.
A 365 replaced it, smaller, lighter, and far easier to conceal. But the 26 is a cool little pistol, and the interchange with larger Glock mags is a real selling point. Of course, that's true of the 365 and bigger mags as well. ;)

The 26 is the one 9mm Glock that I just can’t bring myself to like. They shoot just as straight, or even better, than the larger ones do, but they juuust don’t fit my paws very well.

Those who carry them have a great ccw gun in the 26, for all the bashing and crashing Glock in general gets, these little handfuls just seem to work.

@Joezilla, could you show your ccw rig for your 26? I can’t quite picture what it looks like from the description. Thanks!

Stay safe.

Okay, hee is the current configuration.

Tell me about this JM holster. I just have a cheap Amazon holster for it right now.

Joe

Sure thing.

Here is the link: https://www.jmcustomkydex.com/p/QS-AIWB-Holster.html

here are the options I chose:

Pistol: Glock 26 (Fits Gen 3/4/5)
Belt Loops: 1.5" Clip
Carry Side: Right
Color: Black Carbon Fiber$8.00
Guard: Full
Angular Muzzle Pad: None
Tear Drop Muzzle Pad: None
Red Dot Sight Cut

Here it is next to my G19. You can see there is a lot less material to dig into the thigh.

I got the red dot sight cut just in case I ever get a G26 MOS. I'm undecided if I made the right decision since the slide is not very protected.

I've had two G19s, 2 17s, 27 and a 26. They've all run pretty well out of the box. One Glock 19 broke a spring quite a few thousand rounds out. Otherwise no trouble with them. I have a G42 - one of the first and it was a horror. Had to go back to them for a fix.

The 26 is dandy. I've tried a 43 and found it squirmy. Since I carry OWB for the 9s, it offered little for me. I shoot it as well as a 19 or as badly :) . I did find the 27 a touch snappy and since the 40 offers only fewer rounds, I sold it.

The JM holsters are great. That's what I use.

What does the other side look like?

I’ve concealed carried the Glock 26.5 for about 3 years now.

Mine is equipped with trijicon sites, a magpul 12 round mag in the mag well, and a 15 round reload all together in a trex arms side car appendix holster.

The pistol, mags (Glock and Pmag), and holster all work great. The pistol itself is not difficult to shoot well, either.

OP… Hope yours runs every bit as well as mine

Mine has run extremely well, but it has only seen one range trip thus far. I hope to get back to the range this week and shoot it some more, especially I need to shoot some hollow points with it.

With 15+rd mags, my Glock 43X basically replaced my Glock 19's (3) and Glock 26 (1).

However, I also shoot really well with a G26. I fooled around with those Polymer 80 build kits and eventually just dumped them in favor of Glock frames and Glock slides. This gen 4 G26 is mix master as far as serial numbers go but it looks pretty.

While my G26 doesn't have night sights, the rest of my Glocks do and I would recommend you add night sights to your G26.5. If you don't have them already. I have these $60 NS on my Glock 19's:
I like that orange outline - it goes all the way to the top of the front sight. I find that makes getting a perfect sight picture a little easier.

My 43X has traditional 3 dot night sights on it, similar to these $75 ones:

If you don't want to invest in the tools required to install sights on your Glock, any decent Gun Shop ought to be able to put them on for you while you wait.

I am good on night sights. My G26 came with night sights installed.

I carried a Glock 17 since 1990 and then as a reserve cop in the late 90s thru mid 2009 the Glock 26 as a back up. I then carried other stuff because I am a enthusiast ! My son who has everything at his disposal keeps coming back to the G26 , with good sights for EDC and the Glock 19 with threaded barrel and suppressor sights for night time use around his very rural property . I agree with his scientific based choices . The 26 is a bit piggy, but not that bad and if you got other Glocks or PCC that run Glock mags is the best choice for EDC in most cases IMHO.
