I'll be the oddball here, and suggest Oregon Trail's Lasercast 230 grain RN bullet.
I'll second the 230GR LRN Lasercast just so you have some company in the oddball corner. ;)

One of these days I'll have to drive my truck to Oregon and buy like 10,000 rounds to save on the shipping. :)

The truncated cone design was developed by Hornady for the 45 ACP to feed as well as the GI round nose. I find that it does just that in my several 45 1911's and is very accurate in my 45 Colt guns as well.

I've been using Oregon Trail 230 gn RN "silver" bullets for quite some time, and have nothing but praise for the quality. Additionally, I use 180 grainers in my Steyr M40.

Recently, I found some BulletMeisters at Sportman's Warehouse for $10 less. Just loaded a couple hundred of those the other evening, and will try em out on Saturday.

I'm sure glad some local companies stock up on Oregon Trail, as the shipping is a real killer. :(

I use a 230 gr. round nose lead bullet, and 4.9 grs. of Winchester 231. That's one combo that duplicates factory ammo. (Some pistols function best with the bullet they were originally designed to use, and that is 230 gr. for the .45 ACP.) And, I don't push lead bullets to much over 800 fps. You'll start to lead the barrel as you approach 900.
