Rifle-Ruger#1 .270 Pistol-Ruger Security six .357 4 inch barrel Shotgun-Remington 870 wingmaster 12 gauge. There may be some that are prettier but these are MY personal favorites.

.22 rifle; Marlin 39A
.22 handgun; S&W 617 10 shot pre-safety

Center fire rifle; Marlin 336
Center fire handgun; 1911 or S&W L and N Frame revolvers

Shotgun; Parker VH (original, not a repro.)

Rifle - Henry .22 lever bought for my son years ago. It's the 2nd most accurate gun I've shot in over 35 yrs of shooting. Almost can't miss without trying to. Nothing is more fun to shoot.

Shotgun - Beretta 390 12 GA - reliable, handles well, easy on the old joints

I have an AR, several bolt actions with great scopes that could shoot a fly at a hundred yards but while I would never get rid of any of these They are not my top shooters. That honor goes to my Marlin model 9 camp rifle. As a plinker I enjoy no rifle more than this. For some reason they never really caught on so it is something that not everyone has which might be part of the appeal to it.

Personally, I can't stand plastic and EBRs - though I own some Glocks and others - BUT I have no problem being the outcast, I'll go with my target shotgun - why? about 240,000 rounds of fun and competition through it - a Browning O/U

The kid in me thinks it's the ruger 10/22. $20 of ammo makes for a great day off at the range.

The man in me thinks it's the Marlin 336c .30-.30. Under appreciated, good fit, and I'll never feel under gunned with it.

It used to be a Ruger 10/22. It was the most fun gun I owned. However, I now prefer my Ruger Alaskan.

Favorite gun

My fave gun is my ruger p95 dc 9mm. Always shoots no matter the ammo. This gun is my daily carry. It would shoot dirt if I primed it. Just bought a ruger sr9 9mm, it might take over someday. Rifle is Ruger m77.

J Murphy - I own one of those Ruger P95 DC's. It was the second handguns that I'd ever bought, 15 years ago or so. I've put countless rounds through it, on my 3rd or 4th set of springs. It's loose as hell but it'll still shoot every single time, and hits good enough for my tastes. :)

Ruger 10/22, it'll do anything you want it to. Fun at the range, can be used for hunting, accepts a variety of hi capacity magazines, easily modified, easy to break down. Can't beat the 10/22!

So far for me it's my L Frame Smith and Wesson 586 357 mag 4". It's a great looking gun, with a great trigger, and extremely accurate. Couldn't ask for anything nicer.

Quite frankly, with ammo (or reloading) costs always a major factor, any military centerfire rifle with an aperture sight which uses cheap Russian-made ammo at about .25/rd.

For example, any SKS with such a sight qualifies, and costs less than any others.
Many other guns are much better, but how affordable are they to operate?

Fav.??

Pistol...yeah, my Gold Cup.
Rifle....hard to decide....an Anschutz Biathlon .22
Shotgun....really hard to decide....a 16 gauge flintlock fowler made for me by Mike Brooks.

Pete

Well, there was this Remington Rand 1911 that endeared itself to me, but I can't say it was my favorite of all time. But at the time it sure was my favorite.

I'd have to say it's my first rifle. A single shot Winchester, bolt action .22. Still have it still shoot it. It will be the last to go. Now, if I can only figure out which kid to leave it to.
