What's your favorite fixed sighted revolver?

Hello friends and neighbors // I have to second the Ruger Service Six as right at the top.

But my current Favorite is this 1943, Colt, Official Police, Heavy Barrel, .38.

It has B.P.D. on the opposite grip. Every time I shoot it or even look at it, the old Colt just oozes American History.

Deaf Smith I'm Jealous that 3" Speed Six is on my list, nice find.

My first thought was that I only own one... 3" GP-100 which I like. Then I remembered that the Smith 442, Colt Official Police, Police Positive, Frontier Scout, Peacemaker and some others have fixed sights. Guess I would have to go with the Frontier Scout even though it is a collector piece and I shoot the 3" Ruger GP-100.

Those 691's look like great guns, I wish that S&W wold have made the 581/681/691 line in 3" with round grips like the 13/65 in both 3"round grip and 4" square grip versions.

Sorry, I was only joshing about the "M691". It's actually a S&W M681-3 that David Clements converted to .44 Special for me. I supplied the M681, the five-shot stainless cylinder, and the five-shot hand, and David did his magic (including a custom front sight).

But if S&W had ever made something like this, it would/should have been named the "M691".

Two, one is a M&P from the forties, four inch. Other is my pride and joy, SP101, the baby bank vault revolver.

I have two favorites. A model 65 that stays in my truck year round and the little 431PD 32 mag I keep in the night stand for those little "bumps in the night".

My nickel 38/44. It shoots straight, Can signal airplanes and be used to crack coconuts.

Most rounds: Ruger Single Six (the original 3-screw version, but with a contoured loading gate and extra 22WMR cylinder.)

Most satisfying: S&W Mod 49 (hitting what I shoot at with a snubbie - only happens when I get things right, though.)

Runner up to both: Bisley Model Colt SAA (made 1896).

1. Colt New Service
2. Ruger Vaquero old model large frame .44 Magnum.

I like the tall front sights of both.

I'd say my 3" Sp101 with hogue nylon grips, then 2"smith mod 60. For entertainment value the Ruger old army .45 and least favorite is the 681 smith with original stocks and .357's.....ouch
My S&W 681 with Hogue Mono Grip is my best fixed sight shooter..Bill.

Judging from the number of them in the safe , my favorite must be the S&W 1905 hand ejector is all the assorted offerings.

My favorite is this mint commercial 1934 Colt New Service chambered in .38 Special. These were very accurate revolvers! The workmanship is first class all the way! This one was someone's "Safe Queen"!
