I relate to this statement well. THR is a community of men and women that I wished all lived in my neighborhood, or maybe me yours, Portlandia is expensive. Can you say THR militia.

I really enjoy how everyone shares their thoughts. I chime in frequently, thinking I have the situation nailed, only to see you folks drive a big fat truck through my logic and alter my point of view for the better. And I thank you all for it, immensely.

This site was particularly helpful when I first got my CCW permit. I felt like every person that looked at me knew I was carrying, now I realize, most people see squat. And unfortunately, I probably don't see as much as I need to either. If I'm somewhere a BG brings a gun or knife, I'm likely one of the few that can actually do something about it. Albeit Porltandia, as over-the-top liberal as the community is, they simultaneously have high percentages of CCW holders relative to the nation. I dig that, people who are enviro-conscious, and 2nd Amedment friendly. I have a friend who does not carry, and is very green oriented, and yet says "I have no problem with people having and carrying guns in America, I'm glad they do." Good guy, Libertarian is more indicative of his slant. He despises the expanding police state.

It was also a wonderful resource when I started reloading. It's like a woodshop (former cabinetmaker here) tips and tricks book with homegrown experts from every corner of America (and occasionally elsewhere) chiming in to help me be successful.

I pretty much learn something new when i go to any of them, but my favorites are Handguns:Autoloaders, Handguns: General Discussion and Buy Sell and Trade: handguns (Though sadly its just window shopping at this point).
