I already have my "Holy Grail" of guns. It's my Bren Ten. There was never any gun I wanted more, and since the irst time I shot it, I've never felt the ridiculous sum I paod for it was unjustified.

Well, I HAVE a Stevens Favorite (made in the 1890s), and a Stevens #26 Crackshot (made about WWI) plus another Holy Grail .22, a Springfield M1922.

I also have 2 M1903A3s -- a Remington and a Smith-Corona (I lusted after one as a boy), and a Garand. Plus a Winchester Model 70 made in 1939 (in .30-06.)

I have a Colt Officers Model Target .22 and a Colt New Service (7 1/2" barrel, in .45 Colt.

I suppose my two M82 Kimbers fill the bill, too -- one in .22 LR and one in .22 Hornet.

So I have a bunch of Holy Grails already.

The 1911 that was assigned to the USS Cowanesque, a Fleet oiler in WWII, My Dad was a Boatswains mate and piloted the Mail runs. During said Mail runs he routinely beat the others due to the fact that his the Boat mechanic installed the powerplant from a landing craft into his boat. While on these runs he and the Mailman would shoot at various Flotsam and Jetsam they passed with extra ammo they would hoard.

other than that an as issued Colt 1911a1 from 1943

Okay, you know what I got and you know what I want. Anybody wanna talk some serious trading? :)

Winchester Model 88 in .308... in nearly new condition, without the basketweave checkering. When my dad died, I became the owner of one (which didn't even have a full box of ammo through it). At the time, I didn't hunt, and the state in which I lived didn't even allow rifle-hunting for deer... so I sold it for some badly-needed rent money.

Now I'm older (almost twice as much), wiser, and more financially secure. I'm also saddened by the fact that I sold that rifle of Dad's. So, I look around for one like it. So far, I've seen lots and lots of Model 88s, but none have been quite right.

Someday.

Sorry dad. :(

My holy grail is a 6 1/2" Colt 45 ACP Clark PIN Gun that I used to own and shoot IPSC with. Blue slide and full lug comp melted in Bomar rear and undercut front blade on a sharpely checkered bright nickel Colt frame. I got the top and the bottom from two different places and put them together myself. I had to sell it when I fell on very hard times about 12 years ago.

I do not have the serial# but I would know it if I saw it. :(

As a matter of fact, I DO. I have a very sweet, un-bubbaed, non extended Swede 94. And no, it's not for sale. :neener:

Two of MY grails that I have found are a all matching SMLE MkIII with mag cut-off and volley sights and a hooked quillion 1907 bayonet.

Now I'm looking for a Mole 1907 SMLE bayonet.

All debts paid off, three months of cash in the bank, 1 year's worth of gold and silver bullion...oh, you meant guns. Well, I gotta take care of the first part first, having taken care of the guns already.

Maybe then a Bushie BAR-10, or an Armalite 180, or a nice H&K battle rifle...perhaps a Wilson Combat for fun.

My holy grail would be Patton's Ivory gripped pistols...both of them. Not replica's mind you, nope, only Patton's guns themselves will do.

Short of that, I'd take an origional Colt Walker....

I've heard through the family grapevine that distant cousins I have never met are in posession of my great-great grandfather's pistols and shotgun he used in the War of Northern Aggression (2nd. Lt, Co.F, 19th Texas Cavalry, Dismounted). I'd like to own them, seeing as how I am named for him.

Barring that, a nice, original Winchester 95 takedown in .30 Government would be high on the list.

I already have the 94 Swede :D , a 1916 CG.

Regards,
Rabbit.

Something US with a traceable history to a major battle in WWII. Iwo Jima, Okinawa, Normandy, Hurtgen, Battle of the Bulge, etc.

Another would be the M1 rifle my Grandpa had while in the Marines. Never in any conflicts, just a vacation to California for a few years, but it was still his rifle. OTOH, he told me if I ever found it, not to buy it, because it was a piece of junk

Lastly would be an MP40, or if ammo were available, an Stg-44

Select fire M14 , sounds like alot of fun. Street sweeper drum magazine fed semi auto shotgun, cause they arnt gonna start making em anymore, so called destructive device labeling. :( . or how about select fire BAR.
