What's your "never buy" gun?

Anything by Kahr Arms. I don't know about their quality, but I do know they were founded by Kook Jin Moon. This guy is the son of that other Korean Moon who thinks he's the second coming of Christ. Whatever.

Also anything Chinese

Or a zip gun off of a day laborer in New Mexico, just asking for trouble.

I dont view guns the way most do i guess, a gun is merely a tool, and i consider myself the weapon. As long as im comfortable with the gun, have had a good amount of time behind it, is RELIABLE, and shoots good enough for a defense situation then it is a quality gun in my book. While i do like the looks of a fine @$$ 1911 or some custom gun, i will not take the looks of a gun into a decision of me using it to defend myself (lot of folks out there say that a ak looks ugly but she is a ugly beauty to me and the one gun i want when the shtf) and btw im a HUGE 1911 fan but ive shot sigs, glocks, h&Ks, xds, M&Ps, and others that i might have failed to mention and all do what they need to do WORK AND SHOOT AND IF THE OCCASION SHOULD EVER PRESENT ITSELF KILL. be it a a cheapo moisin nagant or a sks to a savage police tactical model or rra ar, i can kill if need be with any just some have certain advantages ;)

I'm loving all the Glock bashing, don't buy any glocks, lets let the prices come down so I can pick up another...

I have bought 3 new weapons with problems.
In the mid 60s I bought a Savage Fox BS-E 12 gauge shotgun. The ejectors didn't work. Took it to a gunsmith and they still don't work. I don't use it and hadn't even thought about it for years.
S&W J-Frame 38 Special. Sometimes failed to fire. Seemed to have a weak hammer strike. Sent back to factory, returned to me a couple of months later in same condition. I had a friend fix it for a new 'Shooter's Bible' that year.
Kimber 84M Longmaster Classic .308. I fired this rifle 12 times, 3 cartridges had to be removed with the help of a cleaning rod. 2 others were pretty tight. Scuffing on head of case indicates a headspace problem, there is also a groove in the brass and a ring near the shoulder. Same conditions with my handloads, Federal, and Winchester ammo. Status: Still in Cody at the Kimber dealer, going over there today to see what he found. I could call, but being in a gun store makes the world right for me.

Desert Eagle (deagle) ha
Mac 10 or 11
any 1911 over 1000 dollars
Tec-9
single-shot shotguns
muzzleloaders
pump action .22's
S&W 500
Sig Mosquito
Walther P22
a pistol grip for a rifle/shotgun
mini-14 (dont hate em but... why buy one?)
a .22 conversion kit
a glock (dont hate em, but theyre overpriced imo)
any detachable mag over 20 rds.

Hey! What's with all the Hi-Point bashing? They're cheap, made right in Ohio and gauranteed for life! If you treat them like any other gun they will perform like any other gun. The only thing they have against them is that they're ugly as sin and bulky. But that's OK to me because I appreciate the quirkyness. It's like a dog that's so ugly it's cute (english bulldog)

Charter Arms

I bought one for my wife. The 1st had a late firing pin. We sent it back and they send us a different one. But this one, inside the barrel, shows were the pin that holds the barrel on has deformed the rifling. If Charter Arms can't drill and ream a hole in location, don't count on them in saving your life.

Glock
Taurus
Anything made in China ( I can say that, I lived there for 2 years)
hi-point pistols, as the carbine doesn't look bad with a different stock

Select fire Mk14 Mod 0 EBR

Not that I wouldn't just love to have one. I'd sell all my vehicles and mortgage my house for the money, but the gov says I can't, so I won't.:(

SA Revolvers
Jennings (and the like)
Single shot shotguns
OU Shotguns
DB Shotguns
Anything is .25 or .32
FiveSeveN
ANy 1911 over $700
BP Anything

I'm sure there are more but I wouldn't say no to having any of them if someone wanted to give one to me. I just wouldn't buy them.

ANY pistol over $600...until my income supercedes $100k/yr.
Then again, what pistol would I want to buy at that price point anyways?

I LOVE this thread! Good for a laugh and a little fun. But someone actually mentioned the Rem 870!!! How can ANYONE not LOVE the 870. I am talking Wingmaster here, never owned one of the frumpy, parkerized, econo models. And if you want an auto, then of course you would not like the 870, but to actually bash it!? How RUDE!

Only gun I really recall hating was the 60's era Marlin model 60. Or was that Glenfield? Probably same thing, right? My alzhiemer's is setting in. Never, ever, ever, disassemble the trigger group. You will then need 2 mechanical engineers and a pack of monkies to put that damn thing back together. Best advice, buy that Glenfield, load one tubes worth of .22s, shoot it, then put it up for sale cheap and consider yourself lucky that some sucker will pay you ANYTHING for it!

Im going to add another one to my list.

Any 17 HMR! These guns are not worth the money when its windy and the price of the non-reloadable ammo is outrageous!

Hi points. I dont even care about how they shoot or how cheap they are, they're just so damn ugly i wouldn't dare be seen with one of them.

Anything made by SIG Arms.
My Sig P220 ST is the most expensive unreliable, inaccurate, piece of crap ever made.
Their customer service is the worst in the industry.

I gotta chime in here, I had a wonderful customer service experience with sig, I dorked up the grips on my Mosquito while off the gun and they sent me some new ones pretty quickly, at no charge. It's things like that that make me want to be a repeat customer.

Back on topic, I'll never buy anything else with a key lock.

The worst handgun I ever bought was a Kahr PM 40. However, one of the best guns I ever bought was a Kahr MK40. The PM version simply failed to feed after every 3-4 shots, even after a new recoil spring and the feed ramp being polished. I may have had a lemon, but I heard similar stories with the PM40. The PM9 and PM45 got great reviews though.

I wil lnever say I will "never" buy a gun, BUT I probably will never buy any Jennings/Bryco/Jimenez/Lorcin/etc. I owned a Jennings and 2 Jimenez 22s (J22 and JA22)..Sold them to a guy for $350 alltogether..I didn't sugar coat the listing, in fact, the amount was his idea. They COULD work, but their history preceeded them-- never more than an occasional plinker-- Had a Raven and sold it, and I regret it-- probably fired 1000+ with only having to replace the firing pin (once)-- sure the accuracy sucked, but what do you expect froma $50 gun?

Pricey guns-- probably wil lnever buy a Deagle or a Sig,don't like the HKs-- nothing reflects their function, just I don't like them...
