When have you NOT regretted selling a gun?

To me, guns are tools. I'll admit that there are a couple that I regret selling/trading, but for the most part, happy with the decision(s). For instance:

No regret selling a Kel-Tec P32 (which I liked) to buy a Ruger LCP (which I like better).
No regret selling a Glock 27 to buy a Kahr PM9.
No regret selling a Ruger Blackhawk in .41 mag.
No regret selling a tack-driving Remington 700 VLS in .223 (too heavy for anything other than the bench, and there are better varmint cartidges anyway).

I could list more. All were good guns; just didn't fit my toolbox.

Gave my friend a 20ga. Stevens 258, but only after getting another 20ga. to replace it with. I hated that Stevens. Box mags and shotshells don't mix.

1- CAR-15 (long before anyone thought of calling it an M4), got a original Trapdoor Springfield and a Mini-14-never looked back
2- Remington 11-87, didn't fit me and couldn't shoot it worth a darn. Sold it to finance a Franchi 912 that I'm much happier with
3- Glock 22, traded for a brand new Stihl chainsaw. I needed a new one and didn't want the Glock anymore (never really liked it much, just never had a reason to get rid of it.) Over last four months, I've had more trigger time behind the saw than I had behind the Glock in the previous 14 years. It'll soon be replaced with a 3rd Gen. S&W(or possibly a SIG)

I have every gun that that I have ever bought, except fpr one. My buddy, and sons name sake, had been wanting my M1 Garand and I gave it to him last year. While I dont actually regret it, I DO miss it. LOL

A Glock 22 and a 23. Both worked reliably and shot well, but they were uncomfortable for me to shoot. Don't know why - I can shoot full power .357 all day, but the .40 doesn't agree with me. Oh well, I don't miss them.
CZ P-01. Again, it was a great gun but I don't miss it.

a sporterised arasaka in 308. first rifle i ever owned. every thing was nice except i was feeding a round in it when the firing went off the pin went all the way through the primer with the round 1/2 way in the chamber primer went off almost had dirty underwear pow! :what: this was in my front room. the primer was stuck all the way through the primer and stuck on the firing pin. when the pin went all the way through the primer it blocked the flash hole keeping the powder from igniting. im one lucky dog that day. took it back to the gun shop i bought it at said want my money back and they did.

I do not yet, and do not believe that I will ever regret trading a Century Arms Cetme for a NIB Marlin 39A.

A lot of variety in this thread. Noticing a lot of rifles and more Glocks on this last page.

I dont think any one has said... so I'll be the 1st.... wait... dont ban me....

Dont regret getting rid of my 15-20 yr old Colt 1911 Govt 70 series about a yr ago or so.

Traded for a M&P9c with thumb safety.

I liked the Colt and shot well.... just wasnt part of my hand.

I wanted something that with similar controls but more concealable than my glove like feeling BHP.

Boomhauer?

Well I have not yet sold any of my firearms, but I have a Remington 597 that I just don't much care for... I like my Savage Model 64 much better, and might sell the Remington and buy the 10/22 or something

I've lost count of the number I've sold off or traded. Apart from a very few of them, I don't regret the loss. I sell them off when I'm not using them. And if I wasn't using them then there's no reason to regret getting rid of them. Other than my core collection of about six I don't really have an attachment to them. They're just stuff. And as cool as it is to have a big collection, it's also a PINA due to space, security and other concerns. I like to travel light. No more guns than I can carry out with me in a fire in one trip, that's my rule.

I know a lot of other shooters who get *REALLY* attached to every gun they own. They almost physically cannot part with them. I'm not sure what the reason is, but I think it comes down to personality.

I sold a Walther P22, at the time I was so glad to get rid of it I was happy to take a $150 loss. Now that I look back I realize I did the wrong thing, I should have melted it down so no one else would have to own it.

Other than that I pretty much regret selling them all except maybe an 870 I had, nothing wrong with the gun I'm just not a pump guy, I replaced it with a Beretta Xtrema.

Invariably, the guns I don't regret selling are guns that were too valuable or too pretty to use, that I was afraid of scratching. Now, all my guns are shooters. I no longer buy guns for pride of ownership. My enjoyment comes from using them, not from locking them up in a safe.

Traded a jammomatic AMT .380 Backup and some cash for a Colt 1991 at a gun show. Gave the Colt to my son and we tricked it out. It became his competition gun.

Good trade all around, except it cost me money.

I've almost always regretted it in one way or another. Most of the selling I did when I was young and stupid though... when I inherited a safe full of Model 70s from the 50s and 60s, the Win Model 42 .410, the Drilling that my dad brought back from WWII. Yep, all gone. I have a few that I liked at the time, but....

Don't ever sell unless you have to sell in order to continue eating.

That's overstating things. Keep heirlooms, sure, but a rule against selling *any* guns is too restrictive. I've sold off a few that would be worth quite a bit if I'd kept them, but the dollar figures aren't worth crying over. And if you NEVER sell, the dollar figures are also irrelevant. If you're just keeping them to keep them, and you're not even really collecting, then what's the point of having them?

The only guns looking back I regret selling were a bunch of Colt Diamondbacks and a couple Colt Pythons. At the time, I had no regrets as I purchased them just to use as trading fodder. Values change. Tis the gun business.

CZ52, glad to see the backside of that one, most definitely.

I don't regret selling my Winchester '94s and some other peaches (Arsenal SAM5, FN49, etc), but I do regret not waiting to sell them.

I sold a Yugo SKS to a co-worker. He's Bosnian and he used one during the war over there, but couldn't bring it over here with him, for obvious reasons.
So in my mind it is in a good home.
