When Sending in A Gun for warranty work always take a picture.

I purchased a Kimber Pro Carry II and after two range sessions of no more than 300 rounds had many failures to feed and return to battery. I contacted Kimber and sent them a detailed range report I did on the second visit. They agreed to pick it up and fix the issues. When I recieved it back I noticed a scratch on the slide near the rear of the Kimber Logo. I immediately tooka picture and sent it to Kimber. I recieved a return phone call from customer service implying I made the scratch. on the list of repairs was some slide adjustment. The scratch apperas to have come from a vice but they say it was made from the slide stop. Aren't dummy scratches lower and opn the frame? The Customer service rep suggests I made the scratch but that if I sent it back to them on my dime they would refinish the slide free of charge including return shipping.

I am writing this to remind everyone to take pictures of your guns before sending them back to the manufacturer for repairs. I'm upset by the chain of events but love Kimber firearms and am happy with the one week turn around with repairs.

Here is the picture I took and sent to them.

Looks like an idiot mark to me, not from a vice. Looks like they had the stop pointed up and swung it down when indexing the cutout to pop it in. I always bring mine straight in as possible with both thumbs to prevent wandering.

Ouch! Good tip, i'll make sure to take detailed photos before sending anything off. I'm surprised someone reassembled it and let it go back out like that.

If you have a P-22 and send it back to S&W, don’t hold your breath
