When will the hyper gun demand bubble burst?

Off topic but requires rebuttal. California, under the current leadership and laws, is about the worst place to live in the United States. While I love the skiing and wine and sunshine, I would REFUSE to live in such an oppressive state that is so incredibly backward and screwed up on nearly every important issue, to include guns and the 2A... on the 2A, the state Constitution on the matter sucks. And many companies won't ship gun stuff to CA. No hi-cap mags or guns that accept them. I was there and nearly fell over in a gun store when I saw the prices and learned about the waiting period!!!

The ONLY thing CA has going for it is the climate/mountians/water/wine, etc. And that means it's the ONLY reasons it would be better than ****holes like NJ, MA, MD, and IL... which isn't saying much...

On topic, there is no gun bubble... there are brief panics and spikes in prices when PMs go up (copper, brass)... but they quickly subside. MOST gun prices steadily rise, but remain affordable.

I'd like to chime in on the CA topic and agree above. CA is a nice state, but it is definitely ruined by its ridiculous laws and issues. Geographically it is a beautiful place to live, but as a firearms enthusiast like most of us here, I would not live there long term (vacations only).

As far as the firearm "bubble" so to speak, prices are really going to depend on consumer demand; save for the few exceptions of the top-tier brands that will always be expensive. But as the normal trends go, it usually follows inflation.

No. California has not been "ruined by its ridiculous laws and issues." Yes, like any state there are things that some do not like but "ruined", absolutely no way. Like it or not there has been great envy for CA for more than 100 years and that envy breeds contempt in many people. The very same could be said for being a citizen of the USA.

As a firearms enthusiast I LOVE living in CA. Within 10 miles of my house is there is world class club/range with everything from action pistol shooting to high power rifle shooting to sporting clays and skeet. Within 15 miles there is public land for plinking. My collection predates magazine limits and bullet buttons, but even if it didn't I certainly wouldn't want to move for such reasons.

Correction, tallest peak by 35'

Why are you so adamant about California envy? Ive lived in both states CA (Martinez and Long Beach) and CO (Durango).
No "correction" necessary. CA has the tallest peak in the lower 48. Fact is fact.

California envy is nothing new. In the old days people simply moved here. As that became more and more costly (because more and more people wanted to live here) more and more were left with envy.

California is a huge, diverse state. It has absolutely everything. You can snow ski, water ski in a nice lake and sail in the pacific ocean on the same long day in CA. Try that in CO.

That's simply not true. California is a wonderful place to live. To suggest otherwise is the old envy talking once more. Other places in the USA have truly draconian arms laws (NY, NJ, MA, WDC, etc.) but they don't attract even a fraction of the misplaced vitriol because of the envy matter.

You suggest CA is "oppressive state, incredibly backward and screwed up" with absolutely no proof. One thing that bothers people like you most is that CA is so "forward" that it leads the nation and what's pioneered here eventually dribbles down to the rest of the states. It will be interesting to see how long your waiting period will one day be... It will be interesting to hear your comments then.

You also suggest that the only thing California has going for it is "climate/mountians/water/wine, etc." and that's pure bunkum. California easily has the finest college and universities in the USA. By a large margin. Like it not the USA is driven by the technology of the Silicon Valley and the media of Los Angeles. It's fed by the food grown the in great San Joaquin and Imperial Valleys. California is still the largest manufacturing state in the USA despite losing a great deal of industry like every other developed state in the union.

The angry tenor of your posting underscores your bitter envy for California. If the envy didn't exist you wouldn't have typed a single word. That's bad form and that's on you. Finis.

Pretty laughable and insulting statement to the rest of country. I'm not saying they don't have some perfectly fine schools but there are some "pretty good" schools outside of CA.

"Oppressive State"

Let's see:
High crime unless you get outside of the population centers.
Population congestion
High real estate prices
High sales tax
Terrible traffic
Horrible politicians
Exceedingly high car registration fees
Smog checks
High income taxes
Coddling of illegal aliens
Gun Laws- Do we really need to talk about these!

I could go on.

In the interest of full disclosure, I lived there for 15 years, 1 in the Bay area, 14 in the Coachella Valley. While I throughly enjoyed my time there, I could never move back.
A whole world really does exist outside of CA.
