Where Are The Lee Classic Turret Presses Available These Days?

Even Ammoseek couldn't find one.. I know I'm preaching to the choir, but if you love yours even half as much as I love mine, you're gonna LOVE it.. I have six turrets for it, and, for a while, had all of them occupied; I'm now down to four loaded.. I removed, ages ago, the auto-rotate assembly, prefering to rotate the dies myself.. Be sure to order enough turrets when you buy the press.

Like mine but gave up on that cheesy plastic priming attachments within minutes of setting it up.

The best bet is to sign up for email notifications for when they are back in stock on as many websites as you can. Just be prepared to act fast once you get the email stating it is back in stock. I have a Lee 4 hole Classic Turret that I use for all my pistol and 223 reloading. It is nowhere near as fast as a progressive but it gets the job done for a lot less money. I haven't had any problems with the Lee primer feed system once I adjusted it. Another thing is to keep a few of the little black auto index parts on hand, they will wear out.

Funny how people are different...I stopped using the press (thought it was too cheesy and went to a T-7) but stayed with the primer apparatus and use it on a Lee single stage to size and prime exclusively.
Are we talking bout the same primer assembly. All plastic thin brittle plastic at that. Anyway , not to Jack the op’s post, some criticism is helpful, I wanted a semi progressive press and caught the Lee Classic on sale a few years ago. I was already decapping with a universal die before wet tumbling. Did not like that priming system so went back to capping with a hand tool a few hundred cases, then remove the decapping pin from the size die and just go from there. 4 pulls one loaded round. Not my 550 but works all the same. 38’s a few nines and 45Colts. The disk powder measure works well also for my skill level with the pistols.

Mine has been gone for so long, I can't remember that it had one.. I place the primers, one at a time, on the seating lever, and I NEVER feel that this process is inconvenient or has ANY negative aspects.. The press has a very good feel in the seating of the primer and I absolutely do NOT want anything more complicated involved in primer seating.

Don't reckon I recognize the press in those pictures. Base looks like the old 3 hole turret, but clearly shows 4 hole turret. Something ain't right.

Wait. what, that’s what I got. Lee four hole turret Press, the roller handle is an upgrade. Or so I thought.

I noticed something didn't look right. I don't want a franken-press.

Ok. Wasn’t sure. I’m not even sure what mine is material wise. For pistol cartridges it’s as good as any lower priced press, for sizing rifle maybe not so much. I do like it’s auto rotate feature and those removable turrets. I’ve got several turrets. Even use one for the universal de-capping die by Lee.

Hmmmm. Mine will be for 9mm.

That's not a franken-press, but rather the now obsolete 4 hole "value" turret as offered by LEE. LEE upgraded the 4 hole "value" in 2018 to a newer style alloy base that more closely resembles the "Classic" cast iron base turret press. I've loaded on a similar "value" press as shown in the listing for years without issue* or at least I did before selling it as an unneeded xtra last month.

* The only issue with this style, if it's even an issue is the spent primers exit into the base requiring occasional press removal to clean out.

Ebay! Little more then I paid a few years ago, but there one is ...It's a great press!

Okay so I backorder one from Midsouth. Lee said that all thier presses are now going to authorized distributors, Midsouth being one of them.

The documentation on what comes with the press sucks. What did you get with yours?
The reason I ask, is that I want to get all the upgrades while waiting to get it i.e. case ejector, powder drop (Unless my RCBS will work with it) Auto prime system, case feeder. Not ecactly sure what the options are yet, what did you add? Also, I have dies and shellholder, do I need to buy a turret, or does it come with one?

What I ordered: https://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item/0000690064/classic-4-hole-turret-press

For primer, it uses the Lee safety prime.

For powder, there's lee's auto disk and lee's auto drum powder systems. You'll also want the riser as well.

As far as I know, that's all there is.

Thanks, got the riser on my list, also everything from inline fab. They boosted my speed and comfort on my Chucker.

So wait, it came with a powder measure?

I don't think you can use a case feeder, the shell holder is fixed on the ram and only one shell is in the press at a time. You would need a progressive I believe to achieve everything you quoted.

Ahhh, your logic makes sense. TBH, I almost just said F it, and bought a Dillon progressive today. However, I only shoot 800-1000 rounds of 9mm per month, and like reloading. Not sure I'd feel justified on the cost of a Dillon, for 1 caliber, and that many rounds per month. .223 I will do on my Chucker anyway, it's more of a precision press I believe.

Check this out. It uses an arm which advances with each stroke. Very smart.
