I'm looking for the bent wire, rubber coated racks that hold 6 pistols upside down on a shelf. I thought Midway carried these, but cannot find them listed. Anyone know where I need to go?

I saw a post on this forum where someone used wooden thread spools on the door board of his safe to hold pistols. (Try Ben Franklin's or Michael's)

It was very nice looking (he posted pictures) and looked very easy to set up.

I was thinking of trying it myself.

Ask around.

I got a couple of the nice heavy gauge vinyl coated six pistol racks at Bass Pro Shop. They were $25 a piece. They were purchased in store in Denver.

Walmart/Home Depot, etc. Go to the housewares department or possibly hardware and buy some cup holder hooks. Or a set of vinyl clad all purpose hooks. The other thing you could do is mount a hunk of peg board and use the hooks that go into that. Buying anything that is made to sell to shooters drives the cost up. A hook is a hook.

The 6 gun racks I got for $25 a piece at Bass Pro Shops are the Versatile racks mentioned in the above post. They are very nice. I just checked the cabela's link and it looks like those are the Versatile racks also. You will love them.

CZ,

Those are nice but YIKES....thats some serious money for something that only holds 3 guns......I would need like 10 of those.

I just went to Office Depot and got some of those plastic "folder holders" that can sit on your desk.
They looke like this: I_I_I_I_I_I
A pistol (1911) fits right in there nice and snug (i even have a towel around each one). That sits on the top shelve of the safe and holds about 8 pistols.

Dr. Dickie,

I have to admit thats what Im using as well. I have some nice 3M anti-static matting on a roll that was given to me from a 3M employee. I cut a piece to lay under the folder holder.....then I just lay the guns in them like they were folders.

Works very well and nobody has even noticed that they werent pistol racks.

One drawback to the models that store pistols with the barrel pointing up: They may not fit on the top shelf of your safe in that configuration.

Snubbies will be fine, but longer barrels will require a lot of room.

I was about to buy that style when the seller warned me to measure for fit. Had to go a different route.

I did the Pegboard with the hooks in my gun cabinet. Each Pistol/revolver hung by the trigger guard. Looks organized and real handy to adjust to new guns of different sizes. With or without optics and BBL lengths.

Have had zero problems of marking, damage, or ? Use 1/4 pegboard with 1/4 hooks/wire pegs, makes a strong setup if so inclined.

12 or more handguns on a piece 18 X 24 inches. The pegboard can be decorated to taste and or framed to suit. YMMV.

I went to Lowes and bought a Pot Lid Rack in the kitchen department. Only costs about $10.00 and holds 9 handguns very well. It is made of plastic coated heavy duty wire like a dish drainer rack.
