I've called every store within 100 miles of me, nobody has any!

Can't find a single place online that has any in stock. Does anyone have any leads at all? That and CCI 41 primers.

What really sucks is I have a few thousand primers, brass and bullets but no powder!

Good luck on that one, I would think about looking for your second favorite powder. Possiby BLC-2,

I've gone to casting, This way I can stretch powders out and I can still find these powders. Sure they don't go 3k fast, but they will get there. Which keeps me shooting, and it's alot cheaper.

Next I'll be stocking up on BP and caps. Never thought I'd say that!

I ordered a 8 lb can of Varget from Midway USA this weekend.... they have an email thingie that will notify you when a particular item is in stock.... that's what I used..... got an email saying it was in stock.... I placed the order.....

I think there's a Scheels in Fargo right? Call them twice a week. Last week my store got 10lbs of Varget in. They frequently have 4 or 5 thousand large and small rifle primers in each week. Keep after them they are receiving it.

A new powder for the short-term may be needed then.... One of the most over-looked powders for the AR is Ramshot TAC, which continues to be available in all sizes and very cheap to shoot. It may not stand up to your favorites for match accuracy, but for plinking, ease of loading, cost, etc it does very well.

It actually started up here, branched out after. The guy I talked to at Scheels the other day said everything they had coming in on the next shipment was already all spoken for. We've also got a Sportsman's Warehouse and a Gander Mountain, along with a few local stores.

How many grains with a 55 grain fmj or 55 grain sp? What's the fps out of a 16 or 20 inch barrel?

Do not look for 8# from Hodgdon for a while. Filling orders with #1 seems to be the goal for them. For TAC look at Graf''s they have it in stock in #1 and 8# jugs. If you are not able to figure out charges then you need to reveiw a reloading manual!

I couldn't get H335 or W748 either, so I had to find an alternative for my 223 Rem loading....

Went with H322....

Didn't realize it was an extruded powder at the time though.....

Local shop had 6 jars or 8# Varget today. He only has 4 now they also had a good selection of large rifle and small rifle primers in stock. He is open by appointment only. This is in Topeka

Scheels actually started in Barnesville! Scheels used to have hardware stores not sports shops. The good old days of Scheels in Bismarck near St Mary's High School.
Scheels downtown Minot. Took a long time for Scheels to get into Grand Forks.

Well to update everyone, I offered to help a friend load up some 223 today so we HAD to find some powder that would work. I took my load book over to the local big box store, plopped it on the counter and said "lets go down this list until we find one you DO have" He came back with H4198. Ya, I had never heard of it either. 20grains with a 55 grain FMJ BT.

He said it was one of the last pounds of powder they had in the whole store. He had 3 left, we bought 2. Left one pound for the poor bastard who comes in next thinking "ahh, what the hell am I gonna load up this ammo with"

So if you live in Fargo and need to load some AR ammo, there is one pound of powder left at Sportsmans to do it! Go Fast!
