I noticed prices seem to have jumped some, or maybe I am just getting whiny.

500 rounds of 180 gr FMJ Wolf in .40 SW was $66.47. It seems like the prices have gone up, that was the cheapest I found at SPG.

So, this about standard, or am I getting hosed?

I go wherever it's cheapest online and if I've have good experiences before. I've used:

Dan's Ammo
Sportsman's Guide
Aim Surplus
Ammoman

wal-mart I spend about 2-3 minutes getting the clerk behind the counter to bring the right box to the counter

sportsmans warehouse, were I can just grab it off the shelf.

I haven't bought any mail order before, might do that but I seem to get it cheaper than online at wally word in WWB, especially in .45scp

Sportsmansguide. Last week they had a special on 7.62x51. I bought two cans; special price + member discount + $15 off $150 code = $154 for 1000 rounds of argentinian 7.62x51 + two .50 cal ammo cans *shipped*

I tend to purchase 45ACP, 9mm, 38 Spl, and 22LR from Walmart (WWB), 44 mag from my local gun shop, and just about everything else comes in 500 or 1000 round bulk from gun shows or the internet (typically www.aimsurplus.com ).

Used to buy boxes as needed at the range. Now I have to say Wal-Mart. we have a great guy here at in the sporting goods area. Earl. Veitnam Vet, sharp, and knows guns. Easy to deal with, and winchester white box feed well through ther Bersa and the Walther.

$17 per 100 for the .380... Not too bad.

all my ammo comes from my garage.

honestly, i don't know how you factory ammo shooters can possibly afford to shoot enough to maintain any degree of proficiency.

I've also have noticed the prices are slowly going up on all ammo, It lease here in Florida. So I alway look for deal online.

Academy for 9mm
GA Arms for .45, .223, .308 Match
Aim Surplus for this & that
Ammoman sometimes
Anybody with a good sale
White box @ Wally World sometimes.

I've reloaded 30 rounds of 30-30, 200 .38s, and 200 9mm just this week before going to work. Only way to shoot centerfires.

Roll your own to save money, and discover you're getting accuracy that can't be bought anywhere at any price.

Two months ago I don't think I would have believed this. Now, after having loaded .45 ACP, .30 carbine, and .223 and having them all at least equal factory stuff while costing significantly less, I am a believer. My .30 carbine, especially, is twice as accurate / has groups half the size of what WWB .30 carbine would do. And, it's only about $.08/round instead of $.32/round! Even GA Canned Heat, which is good ammo, is $.16/round. Wow.

I get most all my ammo from my basement, I make it from pieces and parts:D :D
