Where do y'all get your ammo?

I started reloading mostly because I have old military rifles in odd calibers that are not usealy stocked in Walmarts or most local stores. And due to state laws, I cannot buy ammo from out of state.

Ammo

In 9MM, 357 magnum, 44 magnum,
6MM, 7MM Rem Mag., 30 06, I roll my own.:D
In .22 LR I buy at Wally World by the 550 brick
for about $9.00.

9mm's I buy.... usually at wally mart or Bass Pro Shoppe whr they have a big sale..... by sale I mean winchester white box of 50 for around $3.50 a box or less... I then but about 5-7 cases that last me till the next sale. Don't think I can load them any cheaper.

I load .45acp, .38, .357, 30-30. Buy 9mm's, 12 guage, 22's.

Hmmmm

Local guys supply most of my ammo....

National Bullet Company is in Eastlake, OH...next 'burb over from me. Buy my .38Spl/.357Mag/.45ACP 'commercial reloads' from them.

Dunham's frequently has good prices on 7.62x39 & x54 ammo when buying small quantities (I usually don't have a lot of cash in hand to buy in bulk).

Also, Dunhams has PMP ammo for $7.99/$8.99 per 20 in popular calibres....30-06/.308/.303Brit/.270/.243.

PMP [Pretoria Metal Pressing] markets their ammo under several brands..PMP Standard, PMP Super Rifle {Magnum cals...7MMRem, .300Win Mag...375H&H...458Win} and the Pro-Amm brand.

I have bought 500 rounds of Wolf at gun shows a time or 2

From My bench

Quality of ammunition is more important to me than plinking ammo to shoot into a gravel bank. I currently load for 6.5 Carcano, 6,5 Swede, 7.5 X55 Swiss, 7.62X54 and 8X57. I'm retired and have the time. Not everyone does. I'm about to give up on the Carcano, but the others ae fun. BTW gp 11 and my handloads run about neck and neck. Essex

I tend to get all my ammo from my husband.:p
"Sweetie, I need some 9mm." "Honey did you pick up some ammo for the AK and SKS rifles?" "Dear, I ran out of .45acp and .44 mag. do you think you could get some more for me?" The list goes on...

As a TN resident, Natchez will not ship to me. This really sucks, as Natchez is actually HQed in my town.

I saw Aimsurplus, do they really require us to 'Show our papers'?

Now, on reloading. Laugh as you may but, is it hard/time consuming? I have a kit, but I never got started partly because of time, and partly because I wasn't sure I would not blow my hands off.

There's a gun store south of Christiansburg called the Custom Gun Shop (I believe) that sells Wolf .223 for 3 bucks a box. I got 300 rounds for $46 bucks, while I would've gottan 200 for $55 at Wal Mart. Shazam!

Academy for .22LR, 9mm, .223, and 12 Gauge. They've got the best prices that I've ever seen on ammo.

The .223 is $2.86/20 instead of $2.49. Other than that, I don't think they can be beat.
