Where is the best place to buy bulk ammo - cases of 500 or 1000? Who has the best prices? Who has the best service and shipping?

I just bought a case of 500 rounds of UMC 9mm 115 gr. fmj, and a case of 500 rounds of UMC .40 S&W 180 gr fmj from Dick's Sporting Goods. They are having a sale on cases of 500 rounds. Case price was $69.80 ($6.98 / box) for the 9mm and $119.80 ($11.98 / box) for the .40 S&W. It seems like a good price after checking some on-line stores. Are there any better deals to be had out there?

I normally buy from vendors at the Valley Forge show in PA. Cash and carry is the way to go.

The BEST pricing differs from day to day, week to week, as each place has its specials for sale. Do some shopping at SportsMansGuide.com, AmmoMan.com, and other places like that. You can usually come up with a good deal on that for which you are looking.

All the best,

buy now.

The owner of the range where I shoot told me he just got a call from the Winchester Rep that all their prices are going up in the next week or so.

make your own. once you have all the tools and press. 1000 rounds you could make for like 80 bucks however this depends on what kind of round. the thing is your ammo will be better than most factory ammo. especialy if you are using your own cases.

In addition to the companies already listed, I would add:

Graf & Sons (Small handling fee, free shipping)
Ammoman (Free Shipping)
Southern Ohio Guns
Collins Cartridge Company
Civilian Marksmanship Program

Keep you eyes open for sales and deals, at stores or online. Local retailers and gun shows may have sales or deals that may be tough to beat. Same with mail order as well. If you see a deal, go for it. Remember, stored properly, ammo keeps for decades. I have a feeling it will always be more expensive tomorrow...

Cheap practice ammo at WalMart (WWB, both 9mm and .45), the good stuff from a local gun dealer.

Just ordered a bunch of ammo (a bunch to me anyways...lol) from Outdoor Marksman. Cheap shipping (considering it weighs 40lbs) and really fast. Ordered Friday night (yes I know I should have ordered before 3pm, but oh well). Was shipped yesterday and expected delivery is tomorrow.

Is there anywhere to get brass cased 7.62 x 39 for a decent price?? I've been trying to stock up on Wolf, but would like some brass, just in case something bad happens and I have to start reloading to be able to shoot.
