I'm looking to buy some ammunition in bulk, primarily .357 (125 JHP), .45ACP and 9mm (115 JHP). I bought some a few years ago and they were packed in thick plastic bags (no boxes) and that Cheaper Than Dirt really wasn't.... Still, I don't recall where I bought it.

Wal*Mart used to sell .22LR ammunition fairly cheap and it probably wouldn't hurt to buy some of that.

Maryland has been one of the states that have been anxious to move to serialized ammunition, which also has the support of Obama and the Justice Department. Some of my friends in Treasury state that we're not there technologically, but that when the move is made to this type of system, that the government will try to ban all .22LR ammo because it can't be serialized. The people that are being appointed to high Treasury and Justice positions are very dangerous because they believe these things can be imposed, not through legislation, but through policy.

Anyway, in my part of the state, nearly all the gun stores are being driven out of business. I thought it might be prudent to buy some more ammunition as I'm down to just practice fodder.

Thanks!

I saw a couple answers in your post. First go to local gun shop. Tell them you would like to buy a bulk purchase of the ammo you want. Let them know bullet weight/brands you would like. Ask for a quote on bulk price. (i.e. give them a chance) Then consider being able to pick up ammo. Not having UPS driver talk about the nut who bought 3 boxes of (ORD) (or fedex feeding it to your dog) :)
This may help them stay in business. Talk to reps that you are against all these proposed laws they will NOT curb any crime and will just cause problems/make criminals out of law abidding folks and cost everyone money.
I still would likely buy .22 ammo at Wally World. Far as I have seen they have the best price.

IF your dealer is not able to come close to internet prices... Thank him (or her) for thier time.

Thanks, but I want to buy ammo that's been reloaded if possible. I liked the stuff that came in plastic bags because it was substantially discounted. With the demand of ammo these days, there's up to a month's delay. Taking the ammo out of the boxes and packing it into plastic bags for storage also is a pain.

Wish I could remember where I got the old stuff!

The gun store in my area charges top dollar for everything; I'd be better off buying ammo in Virginia. Things have really dried up on nearly everything.

Ballistics

I think the prices at Georgia Arms are good, but does anyone have (i) experience with them [company and ammo]; (ii) data on ballistics of the .38 ammo [158grain LSWCHP +p]. Thanks.

+1 on www.mastercast.net! I have fired off more than 6,000 of their reloads, mostly .38sp but considerable 9x19 as well. Prompt, reliable, inexpensive. They are particularly inexpensive if you send them your spent brass in exchange (same type and number). I send a thousand cases by USPS Priority Mail for nine bucks and change. Any other way I know of cost more than twenty.

Cordially, Jack
