Greetings all. Decided that my SP101 would be a lot more useful with a longer barrel. It's too heavy to be a pocket gun, trying to turn it into something of a chunky little kit gun.

I checked the obvious place, Numrich (www.e-gunparts.com), but they're "out of stock" on 2.25, 3.125, and 4" 9mm barrels. Since they didn't have _any_ SP101 barrels of any caliber in stock, I take that to mean that the basically don't carry them at all.

Does anyone know if Ruger actually bored the 9mm SP101 to proper 9mm diameter, or did they just relabel .357 barrels? If they're the same, I could get a .357 bbl and have the new cartridge designation engraved on.

If they're different diameters: how prohibitively expensive would it be to have a .22LR or .32 H&R 4" barrel rebored to 9mm?

Thanks much for any tips on turning my snub-nose into a kit-gun. -MV

I could be wrong, but to my knowledge Ruger has never made a 9mm or a .357" barrel for the SP101 that was 4" long. 3" is the longest I have ever seen cataloged or advertised.
