Which 223 Length Gauge to get

Well Dang it. I ordered and received the 223 Hornady Cartridge Gauge. Shame on me for not checking closer, but this gauge does not check for trim length.

Bob, do you have a set of calipers? And what type of trimmer do you have?

Yes I do have calipers. Also see my other post on Lee Trimmer

I always use my calipers to check case length or set up a trimmer. I have some Wilson & Sheridan case gauges (.223, 300 BLK, .308, .30-06), but do not use them to check case lengths.

I have a LE Wilson gauge but don't use it for that. For my high volume rifle rounds I just use a press (lathe) mounted trimmer and just run them all through. It's faster than measuring then trim.

I have that one and the Lyman version for checking my 223. I do use both but as others have stated I use a caliper to measure for trim length.
