Which .40 Would You Choose

I've put around 20,000 rounds through my G23 without a single MALF. I've never shot the Walther, but I'm sold on my Glock. It points natural for me and shoots straight.

Personally I would choose the Glock because of the range of aftermarket accessories. I don't have experience with the walthers except seeing them being shot at IDPA matches. I own a couple of glocks and they are easy to customize and stone cold reliable plus most models are capable of shooting different calibers.

The Glock shoots nice. However a Sig 229 in .40 (as already mentioned) shoots great. The best .40 I have ever shot is a Browning Hi-Power in .40.

I haven't had a chance to try a walther yet. Maybe it would be easiest for you to just buy both the glock and the walther. :D

Does Glock actually advertise their warranty? I've heard anywhere from 1-year to lifetime, but whenever I call with an issue, they are quick to drop ship the replacement parts.

While my custom (.40 S&W/.357 Sig) Browning Hi-Power is my favorite, among your two options, I would have to go with the G23. No Walther bashing here, just all-things-considered...go GLOCK.

As I've stated before in other threads & posts, I am a big Glock fan in 9mm but the Glock 23 and .40 caliber is a little snappy for me. I prefer a Sig P226/229 or a HK USP/P2000 in .40. The heavier gun IMHO reduces the felt recoil more and follow-up shots are easier to make accurately. While there's NOTHING wrong with the Glock It's my personal preferance.

I have not shot the Walther but would choose the Glock over it.

both decent

I have heard good about the walther, but the glock is such a rock solid gun to own. I own the 23 and G27. I use the 23 for work, and winter off duty carry. The G27 is my back up and summer carry. I take them both to the range about 2-3 times a month (400 rounds a time) and I have only knocked the tritium out of the front sight. I have shot the HP, Beretta's, Kimbers, etc.. and the glock though the ugliest is the most reliable!!! and if (God forbid) something happened to it, it is also easy to replace.

CZ...

Take a CZ 75B 40 barrel out. Put a 40 round in. The case head is totally surrounded. The 40 is a HIGH pressure round. Think about it.

glocks are great guns i am just not a fan of the glocks of any other caliber than 9mm, so i personally would go with the walther, but really it is a personal preference try to try them both out rent them if you can if not, then at least handel em and see which one feels best to you.

If I was going to buy a .40 - and I would never buy a .40 - I'd buy one that had been designed from the ground up to be a .40, rather than a 9mm frame converted to .40. A .40 based on a 1911 might be acceptable as well.

sounds like an H&k usp

I would also choose the Glock over the Walther (are they even still making the P99 anymore?).

Id go with what ever fits my hands the best, of your choices, neither. I add one more vote for the 229. Awesome handling firearm.

I have a Glock 23 and I begrudgingly carry it frequently. I have to admit I was resistant to Glocks in the beginning, but the gun does what it is supposed to do every single time. I've never had a malfunction, ever. It's easy to carry in a Fobus hip or Kangaroo belly band and I know it will work every time and is damn accurate. I've shot Walther's, never owned one. I liked what I shot, but cannot comment positive or negative about them with no exhaustive experience.
