Sig has a few polymer service size pistols, notably the P250, SP2022. Both retail in my area around $400 - $450. Which would you choose and why? Looking to pick one up as a comparison to my Smith M&P and Glock that I already own.

Pros?

Cons?

The P250 has had a rocky start but that has long been resolved with the P250 in at least the last couple years.

The SP2022 has a history of being a terrific pistol.

They are very different in that the P250 is DA only and the SP2022 is traditional DA/SA hammer fired pistol.

I have the SP2022 and love it. Never tried a P250 but would like to.

IMO you can't go wrong with either. If you can try out firing both at least handle each and dry fire a couple times to see what you have a preference for .

Good luck!

I've shot both, like both.

Own the P250. I like the trigger, some don't. I'm not crazy about DA/SA these days.

YMMV

I love my full sized P250 45acp. It's very accurate and it just crossed the 1K mark without a single hiccup even with the last 500 rounds being WPA. Having grown up shooting DA revolvers, the DAO trigger of the P250 is not a problem for me.

The 2022 has been a great gun value for years, especially when they were selling for less than $400. It has a very good DA trigger and is very accurate.

The 250 has always had the best DAO trigger in the SIG line-up. It is nice to be able to switch between the frame sizes using the same serialized chassis. It's great downfall when first introduced was the lack of accuracy. I've heard SIG has made improvements, but I haven't shot one since the fixes

My nephew in law has a 2022. I have fired it and it is a sweet pistol. I have no experience with the 250, but I like the 2022. You should see if your local range rents pistols. My local range has both available.
Good luck
