Which $500 1911? Colt 1991A1 ORM or Taurus?

Colt...the original, and still the one and only 1911. All others are imitation Colts. Technically, that is true. Let’s not even begin the whole USA market consideration V. import.

I guess Taurus is bad...

or Colt's are just so superior? I can remember when the 1991A1 came out - FPB and all, people bad mouthed Colt to no end - no more good trigger, inbternal parts bad, etc, etc. I'm glad to see that they are the best again...

I put Novaks, Ed Brown grip safety, videki trigger, McCormick sear, EB tactical ambi safety. on my $407 1991A1. I also polished the feed ramp and throated the barrel. I put it together right before Kimbers and such became available.
Out of the box with hardball it'd shoot one ragged hole from a Ransom Rest at 25yds, so I didn't do anything to the barrel or bushing.
Buy the Colt.

Taurus might be nice, but to me it is like a pick between a Hyundai and a Cadilliac. Of course, I will go for a Caddy.

Make sure it is indeed a Colt. Hoplite used to sell complete 1991A1 uppers for $200, if it's 'not in the box' be sure to inspect all markings.

If it is in the box, that's a steal. Get the Colt.

Just picked it up this morning.

Like new ORM Colt 1991A1 w/1 factory magazine in the factory blue plastic case with all of the paperwork for $459 OTD .
