Which AR15 (if any) for my use-case?

I see where you picked up a 5.56. Just wondering if a 9mm might make a lot of sense logistically for your short range indoor shooting.

Yep, I have a 9mm Sig MPX-K that is a lot of fun to shoot at the indoor range. I don't know whether I'll shoot the 5.56 much indoors, but I'm excited about tinkering with the platform and building a 300 blk pistol or SBR this year. Also hope to join an outdoor range sometime next year (on the wait list).

Went to Wilksbarre today, my SIL just bought a s&w M&P 15 sport 2 in 5.56 NATO, his first. I hadn't, until now seen one, but looked it over real good, Durban finish was good, no large gaps between the upper and lower or sloppiness, the pins were tight and harder to move than my psa. He paid about 600 otd.

Also checked out his Taurus g2c, firefly and ruger lcp. Was fairly impressed with his choices of firearms considering he's fairly new to guns.
