Which AR15 lower to buy?

I'm looking at a S&W for $125 from a local shop, any thoughts?
I love my S&W lower and think it added an extra hint of quality to my build. Added a Stag LPK and BCM M4 stock kit and it's as good as any lower out there.

Of course you can beat the price with other rollmarks but by the time you add a transfer fee it's not much difference from a FTF at your local shop.

So many good AR15 options out there. I picked up 3 stripped Aero Precision lowers about a month ago for about $195.

I've done builds with Mega, Stag, DPMS, Bushmaster, RRA, LAR, Aero, etc... all have been fine. It's pretty easy to find a quality lower these days.

These days the big differences in the quality of parts lie in the barrels and bolt/carrier groups. All else is pretty much run of the mill in terms of fit, but I have seen differences in finish from uneven anodizing to machine marks that don't affect functionaility, but certainly looked ugly.

I like the Spike's lowers. As has been mentioned, a $30 or so difference in price is a drop in the bucket so get what you want. I like the Spike's because the finish has always been even and the machine work clean, not to mention that the color filled roll marks are super cool. I have two with spiders. My next will be a Jolly Roger with red fill.

Stopped by the local hardware/gun shop, and walked out with a dpms. They had cd, rock river, bushy, and double star. I liked the finish, texture and logo. payed too much though.

I pay a little extra and order Noveske lowers. (when they are in stock, not available if thier complete rifles are backlogged)

Seems like my builds get alot more attention with the "Name" on the side of the lower. Colt, BCM, LMT......makes my builds easier to sell If I have to.
