I have been bitten by 1911's with the regular milspec style hammer and by Browning Hi-Powers with the rowel hammer.
I have found that the spur hammer on the Browning doesn't bite me though.
One that does scare me is the Makarov. When I shoot them I always notice that there is just a very little bit of clearance between my hand and the slide as it cycles. But I haven't been bitten by one yet.
Worst bite I ever had was from a friend’s Mauser HSc. It left two grooves in the web of my shooting hand that took a few weeks to heal. I still remember that although it’s close to 30 years ago. Ouch!
