at every single walmart in this area. If I could upload a pic from my phone there is literally a 4 foot tall 6 box thick pile at one wal mart. the rest usually have any where from 5 to 20 bulk boxes.
Darn it, I just got drool on the floor, I need to move to Arkansas.

I havent had experience with the other two, so I wont vote. But let me say the the Remington failed to ignite often and was very innacurate to boot. definitely do NOT buy the Remington.

I usually shoot either CCI Blazer or Federal Champion 510, both in 50 round boxes. As far as I can tell, it's the same ammo with different headstamps and packaging. It's exactly the same bullet contour and design, and it shoots into one group. More reliable and consistent that most bulk pack ammo that I've tried. I shot several cases of Blazer over the last few years, with only a few dud rounds per case.

The one bulk pack that I like is Federal Auto Match, which comes in a 325 round box, but it's a penny or so more expensive per round.

Just incase no one has brought up certuion .22 brick pick up a brick last range outing and bore not anymore dirty than bulk is in a lg box with 500 rds in the count and no FTF'S OR FTE in a ruger target my daughter was doing the shooting with me being the spotter she's so darn good with it using ky windage she can hit the steel gong at 225 yrs with a crosswind 8 out of 10 times (I so proud) she'll know how to defend herself if it would ever come to that and yes shes darn good at the pistol as well......

You know, you would think CCI would be hands down the best, since they provide most of the explosives/semi liquid fuels/booster rocket fuel for the military, space shuttle, etc. But their bulk ammo is just not that good. eley sport would be proly the best, if you can find it. it is not made in a bulk pac, but the ind. boxes are under 4 bucks per box...

Would firing a 40 grain round instead of a 36 grain round help with the numerous FTF and FTEs I am currently getting in nearly all of my semi-auto .22lr firearms?

I haven't shot the Winchester. The Federal is generally good stuff - always goes bang, not overly accurate but good enough for some casual shooting. The Remmy stuff is inaccurate, dirty, and has too many FTFire.

Wally usually has Federal 550 packs for roughly $14, 'cept when they've run out of it. They always get more. It shoots about the same for me in most rifles, as the Fed. 525 pack ammo, which run about $19 in these parts.

Win. Dynapoints and Wildcats were long my favorites, now cost about the same, which is too much. Dynapoints were my "benchmark" round for many years, as I've never had a rifle that didn't shoot them fairly well. I am not going to pay $30 for a box of Dynapoints, but still have thousands of 'em purchased for far less. It's why I shoot the $14 stuff from Walmart, instead.

Haven't fired a round of Rem. 22 ammo in years, ain't fixin' to start again anytime soon, either. Have several full tins and bricks of the stuff and consider them to be "collector's items", not real ammo.

;)

Wolf MT is my favorite for target ammo, but when I get a 22 Jones and head for the range, it's mostly Fed. bulk stuff that makes most of the noise. CCI Mini Mags have long been my choice for small game and varmints, but now I tend to use Velocitors instead.

I have found the Remington to be inaccurate, dirty and has frequent "duds". I much prefer the Federal buld pack, it often shoots 5 shot groups under an inch at 50 yards with my CZ 453. The Federal also seems to be more reliable, in my experience. I have not shot Winchester much, but I found and bought four Winchester 555 bulk packs at Walmart a few weeks ago, so I'll be shooting it eventually, so we'll see. The Federal works much better in my autoloading .22 pistols as well. I have a Buckmark and a P22. Definitely prefer the Federal!

CCI SV is bulk ammo.

Where did you come up with that? The only CCI that I have seen in a bulk pack is CCI Blazer. I would like to see the packaging on the CCI SV you speak of ......... how about a picture?

i'm starting to see the bulk .22 come back. i first tried winchester 40 gr dynapoint gt 500 pk and seem relative good, no duds. the remington 550 36 gr golden bullet pk i have like under 10 duds a pack and some just seem to just fall out of the barrel rather than shoot almost like there wasn't enough powder. the casing also seems relatively thin cause they would jam under constant fire and not extract. i found some mini mags and hoping to try these out. i've shot stingers in the past and they are a charm. wish they came in bulk.

FED

I could only vote for one, so it was the Federal. I've had really good luck with it in all of my .22's. I would also buy the Winchester but it has been really scarce in my neck of the woods for some time.
Rem is on my do not buy list period. I have had so many failures to fire with it in so many of my .22's that I won't waste any more money on this crap anymore.

Federal didn't seem to eject as reliably out of a Ruger MkII as CCI blazer or Winchester does for me. Anyone else get similar results?

You blame this on Remington? You might check your Neos.

The Neos functioned perfectly with the Federal ammo, so it was definately the crappy Remington ammo

I really like the Federal 555 and the Winchester 333 bulk packs. Clean and accurate (enough) in all my rimfires.

All these "misfires" ... I think I've had 10 .22lr misfires in my life. (and that has been a while ... I bought a Remington Nylon 77 new from the store in 1978 and still shoot it twice a month or so). No missfires worth mentioning with my Winchester 72A, Mossberg M44US, or little H&R revolver either.

Maybe there is something wrong with your guns?

i have the sw 22a, similar gun in design, i get the same powder in face with cci stingers. it is a hyper velocity load though. never had a problem with cheap ammo or any sort so far with this gun. seems to eat up everything i feed it, 500+ rounds and no jams.

I just picked up some CCI blazer but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. It looks a whole bunch better than all the other bulk, even though it was a few dollars more.

But then again, it was in stock :)

.22 bulk seems readily avail. for the last 3-4 weeks, Rem, Winchester and Federal. I've picked up about 10,000 rounds with no problem. Anything but remcrap. NEVER buy remington rimfire unless there is just no way around it.
