which is better? Gen. 3 or Gen 4?

I had to seriously bite my tongue when you mentioned the extended slide release. I know everyone is different, but even the regular slide release gets in the way of my grip on that specific model Glock, in particular. I see you are of the same mold. :)

Maybe I should go ahead and share thoughts on the 3.5 disconnector. Lighter, yeah. But longer and mushier, too. I have one, and it sits in my spare parts bin.

Now that you have a spare extended slide release sitting around, you might consider taking a grinder to it to make it shorter than stock. They're cheap, anyways. I do this mod on my G19/23's specifically.

I am riding the OEM release with my right thumb, but I had zero failures of the slide to lock back on an empty mag. That might change as that spring starts to weaken, so I appreciate the tip. I will say that the Gen 3 guns seem to benefit from the extended takedown/release more than the Gen 4's. I am having zero issues getting a good grasp on the OEM bits to work, that was not the case with my Gen3.

Neither, I hate the finger grooves. My G19 is a Gen 2 and if I eve buy another Glock it will either be a used Gen 2 or it will spend some quality time with a belt sander.

I would say gen 4 for the grip improvements. The late model gen 3's seem to have the same chance of ejections problems as the new gen 4's.
