The same. It is an EXCELLENT lubricant, and far superior to a lot of big-name gun oils (not all of them, but a lot of them) and is IMO as good as any.mobil 1 as in? the stuff i gave my jeep an oil change with?
It's OK, but it is way thinner than Mobil 1 or even Hoppe's Elite, as it's around 50% mineral spirits and only about 50% lubricating oil, IIRC. I like it for oiling a gun's exterior (goes on smoothly and looks nice), but it's thinner than I like as a lubricant.Does anybody use Rem Oil?
I've been using it, just because I happen to have alot of it. I spray down the bolt carrier group and the inside of the upper receiver thoroughly with it, and it seems to work fine.
What Chris Rhines said, although I have been using SLIP 2000 myself. It is not a petroleum based lubricant, so I can dispose of it in my sink (if need be); but it still meets the MIL-PRF-63460D spec for CLP.
rem oil sucks
CLP doesnt do a good job of removing buildup. which suprises me since its milspec stuff
rem oil sucks
Just be careful using it. We're forbidden from using the stuff(even tough we have some) because it's been reported to create toxic fumes when the weapons get hot. CLP works great anyway so it didn't bother us any.I've been using Militec-1 for about 3 years now, for the AR bolt specifically.
