Hey everyone,
Long time since I've been an active user, reality has gotten in the way fun. Anyways, buy August, I'm planning to buy my first AR rifle, the Adcor BEAR. I've had the opportunity to look at one, and I'm pretty impressed with it and favor it more over other rifles I've seen. So, what do I need in a scope? I'm looking at using the scope for 3 gun competition, and trying to keep it within tactical limited (I think that's the right one) where magnification typically doesn't exceed 3X or 4X. Also, when it's not being used on the range, I'd be keeping it close in my room as a primary defense weapon, which is making me look at scopes that have the quick detach mounts. Right now, I'm between an EOtech multipurpose optic weapons sight which has what appears as one of their standard red dot sights with their flip to side 3X magnifier. Both can be detached easily, and the magnifier can be flipped to the side when not in use. The other one I'm looking at is the Burris XTR 1x-4x-24mm with the Fastfire II red dot on the P.E.P.R. mount. 4X magnification and separate red dot mounted on top, and the whole thing can be quickly removed.
Both seem to be good choices, but I'm not sure which of the two to choose, or if there may be some other options that would fit the bill.
If you have any opinions, feel free to voice 'em!
